While processing the application it was observed that earlier, the mining contractor had obtained fresh ‘Consent to Operate’ under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOW/Fresh/LDH3/2025/30184851 & CTOA/Fresh/LDH3/2025/30184798 dated 28.10.2025 each, both were valid upto 31.12.2025 for mining of sand @ 111953 tonnes per year at mining site of area 24.28 hectare located at Village Boont-1, Tehsil Ludhiana East, District Ludhiana.
Now, the mining contractor has applied for fresh ‘Consent to Operate’ under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for mining of sand @ 314496 MT (60% of the total replenished quantity) at mining site of area 24.28 hectare located at Village Boont-1, Tehsil Ludhiana East, District Ludhiana. Whereas it as not submitted any copy of revised Environmental Clearance as required to increase its mining capacity. Therefore, a clarification is raised to clarify the actual capacity for which Consent is being sought so that application can be processed further.
