File Note: • The brick kiln was granted ‘Consent to operate’ under the Air (Prevention & Control of pollution) Act, 1981, to manufacture bricks/ tiles @ 3000000/year vide no. O16LDH3CTOA4484013 dated 12.09.2016 valid upto 30.09.2025, subject to conditions mentioned therein. • The brick kiln has applied online through OCMMS for obtaining ‘Consent to Operate’ under the Air Act, 1981 , to manufacture bricks/ tiles @ 3000000/year after adopting Induced draft zig – zag technology. The application of the brick kiln for obtaining ‘Consent to Operate’ under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 has been processed for grant of the same. • A meeting was taken by Hon’ble Chairman of the Board on 28.01.2020 at Head Office of the Board with Punjab Brick Kiln Association regarding compliance of Govt. Orders dated 28.05.2019, where along with other important decisions, it was decided regarding deposition of consent fee under Water ( Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 as under: “Since the brick kilns are generating and discharging very nominal quantity of domestic effluent and are of small scale, as such, the request of the association for exemption of fee for consent under the Water ( Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 be accepted and may be made applicable w.e.f 01.11.2018 subject to the ex-post facto approval of the Board.” Accordingly, the Partner of the brick kiln Sh. Dharminder Kumar, Mobile No. 9878806404 was guided telephonically to apply for ‘Consent to Operate’ under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974. Now, the brick kiln has applied for obtaining ‘Consent to Operate’ under the Water Act, 1974 through OCMMS. The brick kiln has deposited Rs. 20,300/- vide UTR no. BKIDN20259328976 dated 31.10.2025, which is adequate for period upto 30.09.2025 for value of fixed assets as 46.04 lakhs (orange category) under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974. Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that the ‘Consent to Operate’ under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 to manufacture bricks/tiles @ 30000/day may be granted for period upto 30.09.2025 subject to suitable conditions.
