<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">It is submitted that the industry has been granted consent to operate under the Water Act ,1974 and under the Air Act ,1981 both valid upto 30.06.20 . Now the industry has applied for varied consent to operate under the Water Act ,1974 and under the Air Act ,1981 and has deposited consent fees of Rs 84000 vide UTR no SDL109986042<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>under the Air Act ,1981 and Rs 91700 vide UTR no SDL109985754 dated 2.08.22<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>under the Water Act ,1974 which is adequate upto <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>30.06.27 ( After deducting late penalty fees and NOC fees ) </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Further it is submitted that the industry was issued SCN for violation of the provision of the Water Act ,1974 and Air Act ,1981 and was given hearing before Senior Environmental Engineer Zonal Office-II, Ludhiana-2 on 22.07.22 wherein it was decided as under :</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">1)<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The industry shall apply for consent to operate under the Water Act ,1974 and Air Act ,1981 with in 7 days .</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">2)<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">Environmental Engineer,RO-4,Ludhiana shall visit the industry after 7 days to verify the contentions of the industry and process consent application accordingly . </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle"><span lang="EN-US"> </span>The industry was visited by the undersigned on 16.08.22 and it was observed as under :</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle"><span lang="EN-US">1)The industry was in operation during visit and is engaged in normalizing/heat treatment of auto parts on job basis.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle"><span lang="EN-US">2)<span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>The industry has no source of trade effluent domestic effluent is being discharged into sewer. Further, cooling water is being <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>re-circulated by the industry.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle"><span lang="EN-US">3)<span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>The industry has installed 6 no <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>rotary furnaces operated on LPG <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>provided with hoods <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>connected to common stack having adequate height. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle"><span lang="EN-US"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle"><span lang="EN-US">4)<span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>In addition to above ,the industry has also installed one LPG fired continuous heat treatment furnace, 1 no. shot blast machine <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>provided with bag filter as APCD and 03 nos. rotary furnaces operated on LPG. Further ,no significant emissions has been observed from these furnaces during the visit . All the furnaces are being operated on LPG . </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle"><span lang="EN-US"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>5 ) The industry has installed one no. DG set of capacity 40 KVA with adequate stack and canopy.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle">In view of above ,it is recommended that the varied consent to operate under the Water Act ,1974 and under the Air Act ,1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30.06.27 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board .</p>
