It is intimated that the industry was visit by R.O on 21/6/2022 and reported that the industry is using anti rust / anti scaling chemical to remove the scale of metal component. The effluent generated from washing process is being stored in collection tank. Thereafter, the same is being disposed off outside the premises by mobile tanker as confirmed by the representative of the unit. The effluent samples was collected from the collection tank and untreated effluent was collected and same was analyzed by Board's Lab. As per analysis report, the concentration of the parameters were beyond the prescribed limits of the Board as tabulated below:

From the above, it is cleared that the industry is generating high organic and inorganic load. Therefore, the industry is violating the provision of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974.

Accordingly, the PSPCL authorities was directed u/s 33-A of the Water Act, 1974 to disconnect of electrity connection vide Board's letter no. 4836 dated 08/08/2022.

Now, the industry has applied CTO under the Water Act, 1974 and the Air Act, 1981 under RED Category and R.O has reported that the industry was not in operation, as the electricity connection has been disconnected and same has been verified. The industry has made an agreement with the CETP, Focal Point Chanallon for the disposal and treatment of trade effluent generated from the de-scalling process. The industry was provided trade effluent storage tank of capacity 5000 ltr. The domestic effluent is being discharge into common STP installed by the PSIEC authority for the treatment of domestic effluent generated.

If approved, the following action may be taken:

1) PSPCL authorities may be directed u/s 33-A of the Water Act, 1974 to restore the electric connection for six months.

2) CTO applied under the Water Act, 1974 and the Air Act, 1981 may be granted for six months with conditions as proposed by E.E, Regional Office. E.E, Regional Office may also be requested to monitor the industry as per protocol framed by Board to restore the further restoration.

3) Suitable amount of environmental compensation may also be imposed as the industry damaged the environment.
