<p style="text-align: justify;">The agenda note and report / recommendations of AEE/EE, RO, may kindly be perused.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The industry was granted consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981, both valid upto 30.06.2020.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Now the industry has applied for varied consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 and has deposited consent fees, which is adequate upto 30.06.27 under both Acts</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Earlier, the industry was given hearing before Senior Environmental Engineer Zonal Office-II, Ludhiana on 22.07.22, wherein it was decided as under:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->The industry shall apply for consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 within 7 days.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->Environmental Engineer, RO-4, Ludhiana shall visit the industry after 7 days to verify the contentions of the industry and process consent application accordingly.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The industry was visited by the AEE of RO on 16.08.22 and it was observed as under:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->The industry was in operation during visit and is engaged in normalizing/heat treatment of auto parts on job basis.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->The industry has no source of trade effluent domestic effluent is being discharged into sewer. Further, cooling water is being re-circulated by the industry.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->The industry has installed 6 no rotary furnaces operated on LPG provided with hoods connected to common stack having adequate height.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->4. <!--[endif]-->In addition to above ,the industry has also installed one LPG fired continuous heat treatment furnace, 1 no. shot blast machine provided with bag filter as APCD and 03 nos. rotary furnaces operated on LPG. Further, no significant emissions has been observed from these furnaces during the visit. All the furnaces are being operated on LPG.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->5. <!--[endif]-->The industry has installed one no. DG set of capacity 40 KVA with adequate stack and canopy.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In view of above, may if approved, it is recommended that varied consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 be granted to the industry upto 30.06.27 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board.</p>
