<p style="text-align: justify;">The agenda note and report / recommendations of AEE/EE, RO, may kindly be perused.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The project proponent was granted consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974, valid upto 04.05.2022.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Now, the project proponent has applied for renewal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974. The project proponent has earlier deposited consent fee, which is adequate upto 31.12.2027.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The project was visited by the officer of RO on 29.08.2022 and it was observed as under:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->The site is situated on the left-hand side of Malerkotla Road</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->Presently, approximate 7-8 SCO and 14 shops have been occupied. The effluent generated from Mcdonald's restaurant, subway restaurant, Café Coffee day and other shops is discharged into the STP installed by the project proponent.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->The project proponent has installed common STP of capacity @ 150 KLD for treatment of effluent generated from the process. The STP consists of bar screen, equalization cum storage sump, tube settler, pre-filtration sump, pressure sand filter and activated carbon filter. The project is maintaining record of treated effluent discharged. The present discharge of effluent from the premises is very less and effluent sample could not be got collected. The project proponent is utilizing the treated effluent onto land for plantation in parks and berms provide at the Road side.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->4. <!--[endif]-->The project proponent has started constructing aerobic compost pits for management of Solid Waste.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted upto 30.09.2027 with the same conditions as mentioned therein and additional conditions that:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->The project proponent will get its treated effluent sample analysed from Board's lab within one month.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->The project proponent may also develop the vermicomposting/composting to manage the biodegradable solid waste.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->The project proponent shall not throw, burn or bury any solid wastes in open, outside premises or in drain / water bodies.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->4. <!--[endif]-->The project proponent shall promote use of alternatives of single use plastics (SUP) and awareness to discourage use of plastic, through their Corporate Environment Responsibility (CER) activities.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->5. <!--[endif]-->The project proponent shall ensure that there are no usages of single use plastic- thermocol disposable items such as water bottles / water pouches/water cups, plates, forks, spoons, straw etc. and single use decorating material made of plastic-thermocol or any other non-biodegradable material in the premises.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->6. <!--[endif]-->The project proponent shall properly handle and manage the solid wastages as per the provisions of the Municipal Solid Waste Rules 2016 and ensure that the solid waste is segregated & disposed of in an environmentally sound manner.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->7. <!--[endif]-->The project proponent will comply with the provisions of Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) rules, 2000 and will ensure that there is no function or any activities in the open during night time i.e. from 10:00 PM to 06:00 AM.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->8. <!--[endif]-->The project proponent shall ensure that whole of the municipal solid waste is to be handled and disposed off in an environmentally sound manner and to be lifted by either Municipal Corporation or by the agency authorized by the M.C. Ludhiana for further treatment and disposal.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->9. <!--[endif]-->The project proponent will obtain the permission for the use/abstraction of ground water as per the requirements of Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) and Punjab Water Regulation and Development Authority (PWRDA). The Board will not be responsible for any loss, in case the CGWA/PWRDA will prohibit the abstraction/use of water on account of non-obtaining of such permission</p>
