File Note:
Discussed. The industry is basically a hot dip galvanizing unit. The industry has installed physico chemical treatment for the effluent generated from the wet process....

The effluent is generated principally from the washing process after acid dipping. The process is a rough process and the treated effluent after the physico chemical treatment can be reuse in the process as there is no specific requirement of TDS or any other parameter in the washing area being a crude process requiring no particular quality of water.

It is further informed that M/s Hero cycle Ltd., is reusing a part of treated effluent from the phosphating process after treatment through ETP back into the process and Board has granted permission to the above industry.

On a similar basis, the subject cited industry could also use the treated effluent in the rough process of washing again. Further, the effluent generated from the wet process will be very less as verified during the visit (to the tune of 100-150 Ltr/day).

It is also submitted that earlier the industry had made agreement with M/s JBR Technologies for lifting of effluent but the Board has refused the consent on the basis that the CETP operator has been issued direction not to make any addtional agreement because of exhausted capacity.

In view of above explained facts, it is recommended that it is recommended that consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 may be granted upto 30.06.2027 with usual conditions and special condition that :-

1. The industry shall ensure that the entire treated effluent generated from the ETP is re-circulated back in the process and no effluent is discharged onto land for plantation.

2. The industry shall maintain proper record of operation of ETP and shall submit monthly detail to Regional Office.
