<p><span style="color: #5d5d5d; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; text-align: justify; background-color: #ffffff;">It is submitted that </span><span style="color: #5d5d5d; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; text-align: justify; background-color: #ffffff;">the industry was issued show cause notice for revocation / cancellation of consents to operate granted under the Water Act, 1974 & the Air Act, 1981 vide letter no. 4849 dated 27.09.2019 along with an opportunity of personal hearing at Regional Office, Faridkot on 04.10.2019 to explain its position for complaint recieved regarding permission granted by Baord for ETP as well as plantation area provided in disputed land, however no one from the industry attended the 'said hearing. The industry was given an opportunity of personal hearing at Regional Office, Faridkot on 22.10.2019, wherein Sh. Anish Kumar, Partner of the industry attended the said hearing and submitted written reply that they do not want to operate parboiled plant and consent to operate be granted for production of steamed rice / raw rice. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; background-color: white; color: #5d5d5d; text-align: justify;">Thereafter, the industry was visited by officers of the</span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; background-color: white; color: #5d5d5d; text-align: justify;"> </span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; background-color: white; color: #5d5d5d; text-align: justify;"> </span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; background-color: white; color: #5d5d5d; text-align: justify;">Board on 22.12.2020 and it was observed as under-</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="color: #5d5d5d; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.5in; background: white;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">(i)<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> 1. </span></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The industry was in operation for production of steamed rice.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="color: #5d5d5d; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.5in; background: white;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">(ii)<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> 2. </span></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">ETP installed by the industry was found not in operationable condition as mechanical fittings of the ETP were found not found at place and piping connection of component of ETP were found disconnected.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="color: #5d5d5d; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.5in; background: white;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">(iii)<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> 3. </span></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The industry has developed plantation in an area of 4 kanals, which was found not in good conditions as wild grass grown in the said area and distribution network has not been provided for the discharge of effluent scientifically.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="color: #5d5d5d; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.5in; background: white;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">(iv)<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> 4. </span></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The industry has provided room type enclosure for temporary storage of fuel ash, near to the boiler, however there was no arrangement for sprinkling of water to keep the ash wet to avoid its blowing. Also, the industry has not maintained any record regarding the generation / disposal of fuel ash. The fuel ash was also found stored in open area.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #5d5d5d; text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.5in;"><span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;">5.</span></span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal;"> </span></span><span style="color: #5d5d5d; text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.5in; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The industry has installed cyclone as APCD with paddy cleaner but same was found not in operational condition.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #5d5d5d; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; text-align: justify; background-color: #ffffff;">Thereafter, consent were revoked/cancelled for above reasons.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #5d5d5d; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; text-align: justify; background-color: #ffffff;">Now, the industry has applied for operation of plant to produce steamed rice / raw rice.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #5d5d5d; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; text-align: justify; background-color: #ffffff;">The industry during visit of undersigned on 12.09.2022 was found not in operation. The industry has complied with the observation during visit on 12.02.2020 for the operation of steamed rice plant.</span></p>
