<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 54.65pt; line-height: normal;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry was granted consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/SGR/2020/12787822 dated. 19/08/2020 valid upto 30/06/2024 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/SGR/2020/12787499 dated. 19/08/2020 valid upto 30/06/2021 for manufacturing of C.I Casting @ 2.0 T/day by using Pig Iron @ 600 Kgs/day, C.I Boring @ 1350 Kgs/day, Ferro Alloys @ 50 Kgs/day as raw material.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 54.65pt; line-height: normal;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">Now, the industry has applied for obtaining varied consents to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; color: red;"> </span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';"> The industry has deposited consent fee Rs. 61,000/- vide UTR No. 546098357 dated 27/07/2022 under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Rs. 72,200/- vide UTR No. 433960901 dated 27/07/2022 under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 against the gross fixed assets of Rs. 81.73 lacs as per CA certificate dated 31/03/2022, which is adequate upto 31/12/2035 under the Water Act, 1974 and upto 31/12/2031 under the Air Act, 1981. The industry has also submitted NOC regularization fee of Rs. 2900/- vide UTR No. 546098357 dated 27/07/2022 due to increase of Rs. 36 lacs in its assets. The industry has submitted that the increase in value of assets is due to installation of new plant and machinery to increase the capacity of the induction furnace from 250 kg/heat to 300 kg/heat.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt .25in;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">To verify the facts, the industry has been visited by AEE of this office on 03/10/2022 and it was observed as under:-</span></p>

<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry as well as APCD was in operation. </span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has increased the capacity of induction furnace from 250 kg/heat to 300 kg/heat.</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry is not generating any trade effluent, accordingly, it has not install any ETP in its premises. The industry is re-circulating its entire cooling water.</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry is discharging its domestic effluent into PSIEC Sewer. </span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has submitted the analysis report of stack emission sample got tested from Board’s lab on 28/06/2022, and analysis results found within the permissible limits prescribed by the Board. </span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has not provided any DG set in its premises.</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry is complying with the earlier consent conditions granted to it and SOPs prescribed by the PSCST.</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">As the industry is located in Industrial Estate- Malerkotla, thus suitable for enhancing the capacity of the induction furnace from 250 kg/heat to 300 kg/heat. Also, the industry is not required to obtain SAC clearance from the Director of Factories.</span></li>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt .25in;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; color: red;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 30.7pt; line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt .25in;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry has submitted copy of the feasibility report and completion issued by Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, wherein it has been mentioned that the industry has installed Air Pollution Control Device with their Induction Furnace having melting capacity as 300 kg/heat as per the technology provided by the Council.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 30.7pt; line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt .25in;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">From the above, it is evident that the industry is complying with the conditions of consent to operate earlier granted to it under the provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">In view of the above, it is therefore, recommended that varied consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 both upto 30/09/2031 may be granted to the industry for the operations of induction furnace capacity @ 300 kg/heat for manufacturing of CI/ M.S castings @ 2 TPD, with suitable conditions as per the policy of the Board</span></p> |
