<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 2cm; text-align: justify;">In compliance with the decision of a personal hearing held before the worthy Member Secretary of the Board on 05/07/2022, the industry was visited by the undersigned on 05/09/2022 and it was observed as under:-</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The industry was in operation during the visit.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The boiler of the industry was not in operation during the visit due to which air emission samples could not be collected.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The industry has now cleared the choking of its Tube settler and is having proper dosing arrangement in its Reaction channel.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->4.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The effluent from the outlet of ETP were collected and sent to Zonal Lab, Ludhiana for analysis. As per Zonal Lab, Ludhiana letter no. 1245 dated 20/09/2022, the results of the effluent are within the prescribed limits of the Board.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->5.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The industry is maintaining a record of its ETP and hazardous waste generated from the industry.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->6.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The treated effluent is disposed off into the sewer. The industry is now complying with SOPs prescribed by the Board for OCEMS.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->7.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The industry has now deposited Rs 50,000/- as Environmental compensation in compliance to the decisions of personal hearing.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 2cm; text-align: justify;">Further, in compliance to directions u/s 5 of EPA 1986 issued by the Science Technology and Environment, Govt. of Punjab, vide order dated 10.10.2019 for segregation of industrial effluent of discharged into municipal sewer of Ludhiana, the meeting taken by the worthy Member Secretary of the Board on 13.07.2022 wherein it was decided that:-</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->All the water polluting industries (except garment washing and service station) discharging their effluent into municipal sewer, Ludhiana shall take adequate steps to stop discharging their industrial effluent into municipal sewer, Ludhiana by 31.03.2023 and period of consent be reduced suitably to ensure compliance of the directions given by the Govt.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The above additional condition shall be imposed on all the industries having valid consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, if not already imposed.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->Directions u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 be issued to the industries not having valid consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 for imposing above conditions as well as to obtain consent to operate of the Board, within 15 days.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->4.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->Notice u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 for closure of all the scattered dyeing units of Ludhiana be issued with opportunity of personal hearing before Competent Authority.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 2cm; text-align: justify;">The said industry is located within the MC limits Ludhiana and is discharging its treated effluent into MC sewer.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 2cm; text-align: justify;">In view of above, if approved Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 31/03/2023 subject to suitable conditions, please.</p>
