<p><span lang="EN-US">RO has reported that earlier consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 was granted to the hospital vide online reference no. CTOW/Renewal/PKT/2018/8788955 dated 09/11/2018, which is valid upto 30/09/2023 for 110 Beds for discharge of treated effluent @ 35 KLD onto land for plantation.</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US"> The hospital was given personal hearing before the Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office, Amritsar on 12/08/2022 wherein the following decisions were made:-</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US">1. </span><span lang="EN-US">The hospital shall operate the ETP cum STP regularly and efficiently to achieve the prescribed parameters.</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US">2. </span><span lang="EN-US">The hospital shall appoint a qualified person for proper operation of ETP cum STP and shall maintain the record in regard to operation of ETP on daily basis.</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US">3. </span><span lang="EN-US">The hospital shall apply for revised consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 for changed mode of disposal of effluent.</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US">4. </span><span lang="EN-US">The Regional Office, Batala shall collect effluent samples surprisingly, get it analyzed from the Board’s lab, immediately and submit detailed report along with recommendations accordingly.</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US"> </span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US"> Now the hospital has applied for varied consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 through OCMMS mode for 110 Beds for discharge of treated effluent @ 35 KLD into MC Sewer. The hospital was visited by undersigned on 14/09/2022 and observed as under:-</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US">1. </span><span lang="EN-US">The HCF is a 110 bedded hospital.</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US">2. </span><span lang="EN-US">The HCF has provided colour coded plastic bins at wards, operation theatre, ICU, and Nursing Stations for segregation of Bio Medical Waste and segregation was found as per Bio Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016.</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US">3. </span><span lang="EN-US">The HCF has provided pre-treatment facility in all the liquid waste generation points. The HCF has installed ETP to treat the effluent. The Hospital has provided new media in filters and a new aeration pump has been provided. The components of ETP were in good conditions. Samples of treated effluent were collected during visit, which were sent to Zonal Lab, Jalandhar for analysis and as per analysis report all the parameters are within the prescribed limits of the Board.</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US">4. </span><span lang="EN-US">The HCF is maintaining record of the ETP.</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US">5. </span><span lang="EN-US">The hospital has submitted permission granted by MC, Pathankot for discharge of treated effluent into MC sewer. </span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US">6. </span> <span lang="EN-US">The HCF is complying with the provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, BMW Rules, 2016 and decisions of the hearing .</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US">RO has recommended that </span><span lang="EN-US">the varied consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted upto 30/09/2028 subject to the suitable </span><span lang="EN-US">conditions.</span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US"><span lang="EN-US">In view of above, it is recommended that the varied consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted upto 30/09/2027 subject to the suitable </span><span lang="EN-US">conditions.</span></span></p>
