<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span></span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';">It is intimated that the industry is a Packaged Drinking Water & Soda unit which was granted consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 both valid upto 30.09.2021. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>The industry was visited on surprise basis on 10.08.2022 in order to verify compliance w.r.t. the manufacturing of single use plastic and other provisions of Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>During visit, following observations were made :-</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: normal; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo2;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style';"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">1.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';">The industry was in operation as observed from outside of the industry.</span></p>

<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: normal; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo2;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style';"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">3.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';">A lot of plastic glasses were found adjoining the industry which clearly signifies that the industry is either engaged in the manufacturing of banned single use plastic cups/glasses or filling of mineral water in the plastic cups.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: .25in;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The matter was also enquired from the nearby residents and they informed that the industry is engaged in the business of mineral water plastic cups under the brand name of “Oxy-g” </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>As such, the industry was engaged in the business of banned single use plastic and had deliberately restricted the entry of the officers of the Board during the visit </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';">Accordingly, the directions u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 were issued vide letter no. 4729-30 dated 19.10.2022 for closure of unit and the PSPCL authority have also been directed to disconnect electric connection of the industry. The electric connection of the industry has been disconnected vide TDCO no. 30/1693 dated 15.11.2022.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';">Now, the industry has applied for consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 alongwith requisite documents and with a request to restore the electric supply of the industry. The industry has submitted written undertaking stating that the industry has completely dismantled the machinery for manufacturing of glasses and shall be manufacturing only bottled water in its premises from now onwards.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>The site of industry was visited by the AEE of this office on 21.11.2022 and it was observed as under :-</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="margin-left: 35.1pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: normal; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo3;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style';"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">1.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';">The industry was not in operation due to disconnection of electric supply. The electric connection of the industry has been disconnected vide TDCO no. 30/1693 dated 15.11.2022.</span></p>

The land for irrigation provided by the industry is approx.. 2100 sq. meter which is adequate for holding discharge of RO rejct waste water @ 15 KLD. </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that :-</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style';"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">1.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';">Directions u/s 33-A of Water Act, 1974 may be issued for temporary restoration of electric supply to the industry for six months.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style';"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">2.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';">Environmental Compensation of suitable amount be imposed on the industry or a bank guarantee of suitable amount be obtained from the industry as an assurance to comply with pollution control norms as deemed fit by the competent authority. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: normal; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Bookman Old Style';"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">3.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';">Consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry for six months with special condition that the industry shall get the RO reject sample analyzed from Board’s Lab within one<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>month to ascertain as to whether the RO reject is fit to be discharged onto land for irrigation or not.</span></p>
