One no. emission sample was collected and as per the analysis report, the conc. of PM was found to be 487 mg/Nm3 against prescribed limits of 150 mg/Nm3. The industry failed to install CCTV camera in compliance to the Board’s circular no. EPA/2018/No. 09 dated 28.11.2018 and also the industry is not utilizing Refused Derived Fuel (RDF) along with bio-mass as fuel in the boiler furnace. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -18.0pt; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo1; margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 36.0pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: Symbol; mso-fareast-font-family: Symbol; mso-bidi-font-family: Symbol; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">·<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;">The industry was issued show cause notice before refusal of renewal of consents to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and the Air Act, 1981 with an opportunity of personal hearing on 5.7.2022. During hearing, the Vice President of the industry stated as under:</span></p>

After the completion of said process, the smoke was changed to light grey and the same was also shown to the officers of the Board present at site.</span></p>

In order to carryout the necessary repair of ESP, the shut down of the plant will be taken from 10.7.2022 for a month.</span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify; background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 0cm 36.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1; background: white;">After considering the material facts on file, it was decided by the Chairman of the Board that:</span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 36.0pt; background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 6.0pt 0cm;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;">Now, the Regional Office has reported that the industry has applied for extension in validity of consents to operate under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 36.0pt; background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 6.0pt 0cm;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;">The Regional Office has reported that the site was visited and found that the industry was in operation. Boiler of capacity 70 TPH installed with three stage ESPs as APCDs alongwith stack height of 65- meter with provision of sampling arrangements, however no air emission monitoring has been conducted after 25.03.2022.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 36.0pt; background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 6.0pt 0cm;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;">Also, the Regional office has not commented <span style="background: white;">w.r.t. modification conducted by the industry of the ESPs etc.as per the submission made by the VP during hearing dated 05.07.2022.</span></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 36.0pt; background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 6.0pt 0cm;"><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1; background: white;">If approved, the Regional Office be requested to comment <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>whether the industry has undergone any modification w.r.t. ESPs as per the submission made during hearing dated 05.07.2022, so as to further conclude the application.</span></p> |
