<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';">The subject cited industry has applied for obtaining renewal consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 & Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and through OCMMS mode. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';">Further, it is intimated that a complaint was received in this office telephonically w.r.t usage of unauthorized fuel (pet coke) by the Brick Kiln situated in District Pathankot. To verify the facts of the complaint, the subject cited Brick Kiln was visited by the AEE of this office on 24/11/2021 and it was observed that the Brick Kin was in operation. The Brick Kiln was found using pet coke along with the coal as fuel in the Brick Kiln. Significant amount of pet coke was found stocked inside the premises of the Brick Kiln. Taking into consideration the above said violation, the consent to operate of the Brick Kiln was revoked vide letter no. 2642 dated 07/12/2021 and the report was sent to higher authority of the Board for taking further necessary action in this regard.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';">It is submitted that the Brick Kiln has submitted affidavit dated 01/02/2022 as per the decisions of the personal hearing dated 11/01/2022 to the effect that it will not use pet coke in the Brick Kiln as fuel and if any point of time the Brick Kiln is found to be using pet coke as fuel, legal action may be initiated by the PPCB. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';">The Brick Kiln complied with the decisions of hearing dated 11/01/2022 and accordingly, the consent to operate Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 was granted to the Brick Kiln vide online reference no. CTOA/Fresh/PKT/2022/18012722 & CTOW/Fresh/PKT/2022/18012725 dated 17/03/2022, which were valid upto 16/09/2022. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';">The industry has already deposited Rs. 9000/- vide R.No. 86/5160 dated 01/10/2019, Rs. 15,400/- Vide UTR No. 624285183 dated 09/03/2022 and Rs. 26,100/- vide UTR No. 343928295 dated 14/03/2022 and now deposited Rs. 7000/- vide UTR No. P318220202897669 dated 14/11/2022 as consent to operate fee under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, which is adequate upto 30/09/2027 including Rs. 500/- as Form downloading fee against total gross value of fixed assets worth Rs. 26,40,955/- as on 31/03/2022. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';">The industry has submitted completion certificate issued by PSCST, Chandigarh vide letter no. PSCST/CC/96 dated 24/04/2018 intimating that the industry has modified their existing Brick Kiln into Induced Draft Firing Brick Kiln with zig-zag firing as per the technology evolved by the Punjab State Council for Science & Technology. The Kiln owner will ensure the implementation of recommended operating practices as per the Feasibility Report (SPL-786). </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';">The Brick Kiln has also submitted the copy of dimensional drawing/plan of Kiln showing the length of Central Island of brick kiln is less than 245 ft. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="margin: 0in; margin-bottom: .0001pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';">It is brought out here that as per the latest policy of the Board, the orange category industries are to be granted renewed consents without visit. Further, the Brick Kiln are not in operation due to monsoon season. The fuel being used by the Brick Kiln can be checked on a later date, when the BKOs come into operation. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0in; margin-bottom: .0001pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif';"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>In view of the above, may if approved “Consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 & Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry for a period upto 30/09/2027 subject to the suitable conditions along with the special conditions as under:- </span></p>
