<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 24px;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The applications of the industry viz-a-viz report of the Regional office, Faridkot have been examined and it has been observed as under:-</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="margin-left: 0.75in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.25in; line-height: 24px;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">1.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">As per earlier record of 2018, the built up area of the institute was less than 20,000 sq. m. However, Regional Office, Faridkot has not commented whether any new building construction has taken place since then. Also, there are no approved building plans submitted by the institute.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 0.75in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.25in; line-height: 24px;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">2.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The visiting officer has not verified whether the discharge by the institute is within the consented capacity i.e. whether the flow meters have been provided at the outlet of STP vis-à-vis record of generation and treatment.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 0.75in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.25in; line-height: 24px;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">3.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The visiting officer has mentioned that biomedical waste is generated by the institute and moreover the last CTO was granted subject to compliance of BMW Rules, 2016. However, the nature of biomedical waste generation and disposal has not been mentioned. Moreover, as per record, the institute has not obtained authorization under BMW Rules, 2016.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 0.75in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -0.25in; line-height: 24px;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">4.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">As per the record available, the institute has laboratories for medicine testing and an animal house, where animals are kept for testing. Regional Office has not mentioned the treatment of effluent generated from the laboratory section and disposal details of animal caracass from the animal house, whether these are deep burial or incinerated etc.</span></p>
