<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">The industry was issued show cause notice for refusal of consent under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 with opportunity of show cause in writing within 07-days vide letter no. 3548 dated 11.11.2022, but the industry failed to submit any <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>reply to the notice issued to it till date. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The industry has submitted reply online stating that there is no increase in production capacity vis.a.vis polluting machinery of the Industry from the time of last consent to operate. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The industry is established in Wariana Industrial Complex & is existing industry.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Regional Office has reported that there is no increase in the production capacity of industry. Further, as per the record file of the industry, the industry has not installed any new polluting machinery in the process. The industry was covered under orange category<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>as per categorization of the industry circulated by the Board, being rubber industry. Further as per the record file of the industry, the industry is in operation since 2006, much before the date of notification of Master Plan Jalandhar i.e. 22.08.2010. Further, the industry is surrounded by various other industries which have been granted long term consents by the Board. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>In view of report of Regional Office, it is recommended that short term consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry for one year with suitable conditions and special conditions that:-</span></p>
