<p class="TableParagraph" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 5.3pt .0001pt 5.25pt;">Earlier, the consent to operate granted to the unit under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide online reference no. CTOW/Fresh/GRP/2021/16440088 & CTOA/Fresh/GRP/2021/16439378 dated 26/08/2021 which are valid upto 28/02/2022 for Hallmarking of Gold Ornaments in their analytical lab.</p>
<p class="TableParagraph" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 5.3pt .0001pt 5.25pt;">Now, the unit has applied for obtaining renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for Hallmarking of Gold Ornaments in their analytical lab.</p>
<p class="TableParagraph" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 5.3pt .0001pt 5.25pt;">The unit has already submitted No Due certificate in regard to property tax branch, water supply and sewerage, engineering department and other record which is issued from Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Batala vide its letter no, 1780 dated 19/07/2021.</p>
<p class="TableParagraph" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 5.3pt .0001pt 5.25pt;">The CPCB, New Delhi has issued guidelines for gold assaying and hallmarking centers in Oct 2020. In this guidelines not siting criteria for gold assaying and hallmarking centers has been framed. The unit falls in orange category in small scale sector according to latest categorization and competency to decide the case lies with the Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office, Amritsar. The unit has submitted all the requisite documents along with C.A. Certificate showing value of gross fixed assets 29,40,480/- as on 31/03/2022.</p>
<p class="TableParagraph" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 5.3pt .0001pt 5.25pt;">The industry has deposit Rs. 3625/- vide online UTR No. 000591887993 dated 29/06/2022, Rs. 4125/- vide online UTR No. 000591884504 dated 29/06/2022, Rs. 13775/- vide Ch/No. 009605 dated 25/11/2022 & Rs. 14500/- vide Ch/No. 009604 dated 25/11/2022 under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 including Rs. 2900/- each as penalty fee & Rs. 500/- as FDF <span style="font-size: 11.5pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 150%;">validity of fee deposited by the unit is </span>adequate for a period upto 30.09.2027 under both Acts.</p>
<p class="TableParagraph" style="margin-left: 22.0pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 12.3pt; mso-line-height-rule: exactly;"><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;">The unit was visited on 25/11/2022 and it was observed as under:-</span></p>

Hot Plate in an enclosure. </span></p>
<p class="TableParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -21.4pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: 27.05pt 27.1pt; margin: 6.1pt 0in .0001pt 27.05pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 10.0pt; letter-spacing: -.05pt;">3.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;">As per guidelines made by CPCB the unit has provided water scrubbing system with water circulation pump and same was attached with Hot Plate Chamber and muffle furnace. The system has provided to control fumes being generated from cupellation process.</span></p>
<p class="TableParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -21.4pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: 27.05pt 27.1pt; margin: 6.1pt 0in .0001pt 27.05pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style', 'serif'; font-size: 11.5pt;">4. The unit has not installed any D.G. set.</span></p>
<p class="TableParagraph" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 5.05pt .0001pt 5.25pt;"><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 150%;">In view of above, <span style="letter-spacing: -.15pt;">it </span>is recommended that the consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 & Water (Prevention & control of Pollution) Act, <span style="letter-spacing: -.15pt;">1974 </span>may <span style="letter-spacing: -.2pt;">be </span>granted to the unit for a period upto 30/09/2027 with suitable terms and condition along with a special conditions that:-</span></p>
<p class="TableParagraph" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; margin: 0in 5.05pt .0001pt 5.25pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style', 'serif'; font-size: 11.5pt; text-indent: -21.4pt;">1. The unit shall apply for obtaining Authorization under HWM Rules, 2016 as per policy of the Board.</span></p> |
