<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The industry was issued show cause notice for refusal of consent under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 with hearing before SEE (J) on 21.11.22 at 11:30 AM, in which it was decided that:-</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The industry shall submit a composite bank guarantee of Rs 50,000/- as an assurance for successful operation of ZLD system within 7 days.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->EE, RO-2 Jalandhar shall visit the industry within 2 days to verify the contentions of the industry made during the hearing and submit the report in the matter to decide the consent applications.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"> The proceedings of hearing has been conveyed to the industry vide letter no. 3802 dated 23.11.22, copy attached.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"> RO has now reported vide its email dated 25.11.22 that the industry was visited by AEE on 24.11.22 and it was observed that the evaporation/MVR has been installed and the components for filtration and RO have been received at site and under installation. The representative informed that the work regarding commissioning and testing of the ZLD will be completed within 20 days.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"> In view of report of RO, it is recommended that consent under Water Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 30.06.27 for discharge of treated effluent with ZLD technology with suitable conditions and special conditions that: -</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.5in; mso-text-indent-alt: -.25in; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo2;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span>I.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The industry shall only operate the unit after successful commissioning of the ZLD plant.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.5in; mso-text-indent-alt: -.25in; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo2;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span>II.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The industry shall provide EMF meter with fresh water sources as well as ETP within one month.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.5in; mso-text-indent-alt: -.25in; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo2;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span>III.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The industry shall maintain the record regarding operation of ZLD plant and reuse of treated water in the process.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"> Further, EE Regional office-2 Jalandhar be asked to visit the industry after 15 days, verify regarding installation of ZLD system by the industry and carry out detailed auditing of the industry including operation of ZLD unit and submit the report alongwith recommendations in the matter.
