<p style="text-align: justify;">The agenda note and report / recommendations of AEE/EE, RO, may kindly be perused.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The industry is a medium scale red category unit and was earlier granted consent to operate under Air Act, 1981, valid upto 15.11.2022 for the production of garments @ 12500 num/day with operation of one boiler of capacity 3 TPH with Cyclone Separator as APCD.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Earlier air emission sample of the industry was collected on 29.03.2022 and the concentration of the SPM was found beyond the limits prescribed by the Board i.e. 562 mg/Nm3 against the limit of 500mg/Nm3. Accordingly, the industry was given personal hearing before Chief Environmental Engineer, Ludhiana for refusal of consent to operate under Air Act, 1981 on 06.05.2022. During the hearing following decisions were taken:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->i. <!--[endif]-->The industry shall furnish a bank guarantee amounting to Rs. 2.0 Lac in the office Environmental Engineer, Regional Office-3, Ludhiana, within 07 days as an assurance to maintain and operate its air pollution control device (APCD), regularly and efficiently, so as to achieve the stack emission standards consistently as prescribed by the Board.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->ii. <!--[endif]-->Environmental Engineer, Regional Office-3, Ludhiana shall visit the site of the industry, carry out the emission sampling, within one month and</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In compliance of the decisions of the personal hearing, the industry has submitted the Bank Guarantee of Rs. 2.0 Lac in RO.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Now, the industry has applied for renewal consent to operate under Air Act, 1981. The industry has deposited consent fee, which is adequate upto 30.06.2025.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The industry was visited by AEE of RO on 18.11.2022 and observed as under:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->The industry was in operation and engages in the process of washing/ dyeing of garments.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->The industry has installed washing/dyeing machines of capacity (500KgX3), (400KgX2), (200KgX4), (125KgX1), (60KgX1), (35KgX2) and (20KgX2) for washing of garments.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->The trade and domestic effluent is being discharged into CETP dedicated sewer.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->4. <!--[endif]-->The industry has installed one boiler of capacity 3 TPH with cyclone separate as APCD. Wood was used as fuel during visit.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->5. <!--[endif]-->The industry has installed one DG set of capacity 650 KVA with canopy and adequate stack height at site.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->6. <!--[endif]-->The air emission sample of the industry was collected during the visit and as per analysis results, the concentration of SPM was found within the limits prescribed by the Board.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted for one year with suitable conditions, please.</p>
