<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;">The industry was earlier granted consent under Water act, 1974 upto 26.10.2022. After going through note history of that application, it has been observed that earlier the industry had made agreement with M/s JBR Technologies Limited, Unit-II, Kohara, Ludhiana for lifting of untreated effluent. But, said re-processor had not actual user certificate/passbook for lifting of spent sulphuric acid as required under Hazardous & Other Wastes (Management Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016.</span> So, show cause notice was issued to the industry with hearing before SEE, ZO-1 on 20.9.2021. In meanwhile the industry made agreement with M/s Charanjit & Co., Ludhiana for lifting of its effluent. Accordingly, consent was granted for one year. The copy of proceedings of hearing dated 20.9.2021 is attached.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;">It is pertinent to mention here that earlier also the industry was using sulphuric acid and it has made agreement with M/s Charanjit & Co., Ludhiana for lifting of its effluent. The industry has not been found using hydrochloric acid, while processing previous consent as well as present consent application. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;">In view of above, it is recommended that consent may be granted upto 30.6.2027.</span></p>
