The industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 valid upto 30.06.2020.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="line-height: 147%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo2; margin: .1pt 42.0pt .0001pt 45.0pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 147%; font-family: Symbol; mso-fareast-font-family: Symbol; mso-bidi-font-family: Symbol;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">·<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 147%;">In compliance of the orders of the Hon'ble High Court, the Competent Authority of the Board has decided for the closure of the industries (61 tannery units included this unit) u/s 33-A of the under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide Zonal office letter no. 6068 dated 31.10.2019, which were operating in the Leather Complex, Jalandhar and PSPCL authorities were directed to disconnect the electric connection available with the industry and consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 granted to the industry was revoked vide Zonal Office letter no. 6166-68 dated 31.10.2019. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="line-height: 147%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo2; margin: .1pt 42.0pt .0001pt 45.0pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 147%; font-family: Symbol; mso-fareast-font-family: Symbol; mso-bidi-font-family: Symbol;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">·<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 147%;">Thereafter, the industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Varied/JAL/2020/14029669 dated 23.10.2020 valid upto 31.03.2021 for dry finishing and manufacturing of crust leather @ 1800 sq.mtr/day and the electric connection of the industry was restored temporary upto 31.03.2021 vide Boards letter no. 3550 dated 13.11.2020.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="line-height: 147%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo2; margin: .1pt 42.0pt .0001pt 45.0pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 147%; font-family: Symbol; mso-fareast-font-family: Symbol; mso-bidi-font-family: Symbol;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">·<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 147%;">The electric connection of the of the member industry was restored vide letter dated 27.01.2021 which was further extended from time to time and lastly upto 31.12.2021 as per letter no. 3684 to 3742 dated 12.10.2021 with the direction to operate the plant & machinery upto 31.12.2021 subject to following conditions. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-indent: -13.5pt; line-height: 147%; margin: .1pt 42.0pt .0001pt 63.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 147%;">a) Apply for consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 for disposal of effluent into drains leading to CETP and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through online system of the Board. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-indent: -13.5pt; line-height: 147%; margin: .1pt 42.0pt .0001pt 63.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 147%;">b) Operate the Pre-Effluent Treatment Plant (PETP) installed in the premises efficiently. </span></p>

The industry is now only engaged in the dyeing/fat liquoring of wet blue leather</span></p>

As such the record seems to be inconsonance.</span></p>
