<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-bidi-language: PA;">The institute has applied for obtaining fresh consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981. The institute was visited by the officer of the Board on 30.08.2022 and it was observed that the institute is located within 100 meter distance of a brick kiln (air polluting source), sharing 750 ft. of a common wall. Availability of 15 meter wide space between the institute and the brick kiln is only for 613 ft. length. For the remaining 138 ft. length; only 3 meter wide space is available for plantation purposes.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-bidi-language: PA;"> The institute was issued show cause notice before refusal of consents to operate under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 with an opportunity of personal hearing on 17.11.2022.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-bidi-language: PA;">During hearing, the Chairman of Baba Farid Vidyak Society (Regd.) submitted written reply of show cause notice issued and the same has been taken on record. He stated that at the time of approval of site / building plan on 7.1.2005 from the Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat, Deon, the area of the institute was 19.2 acre and the Gram Panchayat / Sarpanch was competent to approve the building plan in rural areas as already confirmed by the District Administration vide letter dated 18.4.2021. Therefore, they have applied for obtaining consents to operate for an area of 19.2 acres only. Further, the area of institute has been increased to 41.41 acre and they have also applied to the Deptt. of Town & Country Planning for CLU as well as approval of building plans. He further stated that green belt of adequate width has been provided towards the brick kiln and attached copy of layout plan showing the same.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-bidi-language: PA;">After hearing the Chairman of the society as well as officers of the Board, it has been decided by the Chairman of the Board that the Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Bathinda shall immediately visit the site to verify the submissions made by the representatives of the institute and thereafter, submit afresh report alongwith recommendations for disposal of pending consent applications.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-bidi-language: PA;">Now the Regional Office vide note dated 12.12.2022 has reported that the institute has developed plantation in an about 12 mtr width in the premises of brick kiln adjoining to the institute. The institute has already provided green belt in its 3 meter width available with the institute, so total 15 meter green belt has been provided after including 12 meter green belt developed by the institute inside the premises of the brick kiln.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-bidi-language: PA;">In view of above, if approved, consents to operate under the provisions of the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 be granted to the institute upto 31.03.2025, subject to the following specific conditions:-</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -22.5pt; line-height: 150%; background: white; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt 27.0pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-bidi-language: PA;">1.</span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-bidi-language: PA;"> </span><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-bidi-language: PA;">The institute shall develop proper thick plantation of 15 meter width along the boundary shared with the brick kiln, within 15 days and shall ensure to maintain the said green belt at all times in compliance to core committee meeting decision dated 11.05.2018.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -22.5pt; line-height: 150%; background: white; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt 27.0pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-bidi-language: PA;">2.</span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-bidi-language: PA;"> </span><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-bidi-language: PA;">The institute shall operate its STP regularly & scientifically and shall maintain proper record of the effluent generated/treated.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -22.5pt; line-height: 150%; background: white; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt 27.0pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-bidi-language: PA;">3.</span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-bidi-language: PA;"> </span><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-bidi-language: PA;">The institute shall ensure to dispose of its treated effluent onto land for plantation developed inside its premises and will further ensure that no stagnation occurs in it at any time.</span></p>

S.O. 3252(E) dated 22.12.2014 issued by MoEF&CC.</span></p>
