<p style="text-align: justify;">The agenda note and report / recommendations of AEE/EE, RO, may kindly be perused.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The unit is small scale orange category unit and was granted consent to operate Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981, valid upto 04.01.2023 and 30.09.2022 respectively for the disposal of domestic effluent @ 4 KLD into sewer after treating through oil & grease trap and septic tank.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Further the directions u/s 33-A of Water Act, 1974 were issued to the PSPCL authorities to restore the electric connection of the unit temporarily upto 04.01.2023 vide Board's letter no. 4518 dated 06.07.2022. </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"> Now, the unit has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981. The industry has deposited consents fee, which are adequate upto 31.12.2027 under both Acts.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The unit was visited by AEE of RO on 01.12.2022 and observed as under:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->The unit has provided one banquet hall having gathering capacity of about 50 persons and one restaurant is having sitting capacity of about 25 persons.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->During the visit, the banquet hall was in operation.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->The unit has installed STP based on MBBR technology for the treatment of trade effluent i.e. effluent generated from the kitchen. The treated effluent is being discharged into sewer. Further, the unit has also made arrangement to discharge the effluent onto land for gardening inside the premises. The unit has provided terrace garden to utilize the treated effluent.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->4. <!--[endif]-->The industry has installed ETP consisting of the components settling tanks, Oil & Grease trap, MBBR tank 1 & 2, Pre-filtration tank, Filters, Treated storage tank & Discharge.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->5. <!--[endif]-->During the visit ETP was in operation and effluent sample was collected from the outlet of the ETP and the same was sent to the Board’s lab for analysis. As per the analysis report received from the lab, the results of various parameters are as under:- pH=7.2, TSS =20 mg/l, TDS =685 mg/l, COD = 80 mg/l, BOD =13 mg/l and O&G=BDL, which are within the prescribed limit of the Board.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->6. <!--[endif]-->The unit has installed one D.G set of capacity 82.5 KVA with canopy and adequate stack height.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->7. <!--[endif]-->The domestic effluent generated from the washrooms was being discharged into the M.C sewer after septic tank.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In view of above, it is therefore, recommended that:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->Directions u/s 33-A of Water Act 1974 may be issued to the PSPCL authorities to restore the electric connection of the unit temporarily for further six months.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->Consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the unit for six months with usual conditions and with special conditions that:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--> i. <!--[endif]-->The project proponent to ensure that there will be no public nuisance on account of parties/marriage functions/any other function to be held in the hotel premises.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--> ii. <!--[endif]-->The project proponent will comply with the provisions of Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) rules, 2000 and will ensure that there is no function or any activities in the open during night time i.e. from 10:00 PM to 06:00 AM.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--> iii. <!--[endif]-->The project proponent shall ensure that whole of the municipal solid waste is to be handled and disposed off in an environmentally sound manner and to be lifted by either Municipal Corporation or by the agency authorized by the M.C. Ludhiana for further treatment and disposal.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--> iv. <!--[endif]-->The project proponent shall ensure that the effluent being discharged into sewer always conform to the general standards for discharge of environment pollutants part A notified under Schedule-VI appended to EPA Rules, 1986 vide notification no. GSR-322 (E) dated 19-05-1993.</p>
