<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif; color: #5d5d5d;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>It is intimated that the industry has already obtained the varied CTO under the Water Act, 1974 valid upto 31.12.2022. The industry has now applied for renewal of the same. Regional Office has reported that the industry was in operation. The High TDS stream is being treated with MEE and MBR. The Low TDS stream and domestic effluent is treated through ETP followed by RO plant, RO permeate is being used in fresh water and RO permeate is fed to MBR. Regional Office has monitored the performance of wastewater treatment installed by the industry. As per analysis report, the performance parameters are within the prescribed limits. Regional Office has also reported that the industry was not discharging its treated/untreated/partially treated wastewater in the nearby storm water drain in the plantation area. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The industry has installed OCEMS.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The readings observed during the visit were – pH – 7.1 mg/l, BOD – 3.54 mg/l, COD – 18.28 mg/l and TSS – 4 mg/l. <span style="background: white;">Regional Office has reported that </span>the industry has complied with some of the conditions and is in process of complying with rest of the special conditions mentioned in the previous </span><span style="background: white;"><span style="font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; float: none; word-spacing: 0px;">partial ‘consent to operate’ and ‘consent to establish’ granted to the industry for expansion of the unit.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif; color: #5d5d5d;">From the above, it shows that the industry does achieve the Zero discharge. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma',sans-serif; color: #5d5d5d; background: white;">If may approved, the industry be granted renewal of varied consent to operate upto 31.03.2025 with the special condition proposed by the Regional Office and with an additional condition that “The industry shall comply with decisions of the hearing dated 8/6/2021 & 28/3/2022, and the Hon'ble NGT order dated 25/2/2021 passed in OA no. 33 of 2013, OA no. 30 of 2013, OA no. 101 of 2020 and also comply with the SOP framed by CPCB for such type of industries.” Environmental Engineer, Regional Office may also be requested to monitor the industry as per protocol fixed by the Board to verify the SOP framed by CPCB for such type of industries, verify the ZLD as well as mode of disposal and compliance of environmental laws/rules.</span></p> |
