<p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span class="s1" style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody;">The industry was issued notice u/s 33-A of the Water Act, 1974 and u/s 31-A of Air Act, 1981 with an opportunity of personal hearing before CEE(B) on 23.06.2022, wherein it was decided that: </span></p>
<p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span class="s1" style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody;"> </span></p>
<p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span class="s1" style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody;">1. The industry shall remove the plastic carry bag manufacturing machine from its premises within one week and inform this office as well as Regional Office, Faridkot of the Board, accordingly.</span></p>
<p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span class="s1" style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody;">2. The industry shall apply within one week for obtaining 'consents to operate' under the Water Act, 1974 & the Air Act, 1981 alongwith requisite fee & documents including document pertaining to suitability of the site.</span></p>
<p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span class="s1" style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody;">3. Regional Office, Faridkot shall immediately carryout the survey of the area in question to identify the other units operating in the vicinity and submit complete report including their pollution control as well as consent status, within 15 day.</span></p>

<p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span class="s1" style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody;">The industry was visited on 11.07.2022 and during visit, it was observed that:-</span></p>
<p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span class="s1" style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody;">1. The unit was not in operation for production of carry bags, however , the plastic carry bag manufacturing machine was not removed from its premises.</span></p>
<p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span class="s1" style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody;">2. The unit is carrying out painting in open.</span></p>
<p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span class="s1" style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody;">3. No APCD has been installed to control emissions from one extruder machine.</span></p>
<p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span class="s1" style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody;">4. The domestic effluent of the industry was being discharged into soakage pit.</span></p>
<p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span class="s1" style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody;">5. The industry has failed to apply for obtaining 'consents to operate' under the Water Act, 1974 & the Air Act, 1981 alongwith requisite fee & documents including document pertaining to suitability of the site, till date.</span></p>

<p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span class="s1" style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody;">Directions u/s 33-A under the Water Act, 1974 and 31-A of the Air Act, 1981 were issued for its closure alongwith direction to PsPCL authorities for disconnection of electric connection of the industry.</span></p>

<p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span class="s1" style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody;">The industry applied for obtaining fresh consents to operate under the Water Act, 1974 & the Air Act, 1981 to manufacture Fiber Toys @ 600 nos./day by using Plastic Dana @ 0.2 MTD as raw material under orange category.</span></p>

Soakage pit was plugged.</span></li>

<p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span class="s1" style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody;"> Air Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry for six months for manufacturing Fiber Toys @ 600 nos./day by using Plastic Dana @ 0.2 MTD as raw material subject to the following special conditions:</span></p>

S.O.438/P.A.9/1994/S-30/2016 dated 29.03.2016 issued by the Department of Rural Development & Panchayats, wherein the the manufacturing, stocking, distribution, recycling, selling or use of plastic carry bags has been completely prohibited in the State of Punjab w.e.f. 01.04.2016. </span></li>
<li class="li1" style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal;"><span class="s1" style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody;">The industry will obtain registration as required under plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016, within 2 months.</span></li>
<li class="li1" style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal;"><span class="s1" style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody;">The industry shall not carry out any activity related to spray painting within its its premises</span></li>

Directions be issued to the PSPCL authorities for temporary restoration of electric connection of the industry for a period of six months.</span></p>
