<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 12.6pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The brick kiln was granted consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 on 16.11.2020 (valid upto 30.09.2025) for operation of a brick kiln with </span><strong style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">Induced Draft zig-zag technology</strong><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';"> for production of bricks & tiles 30000 nos./day using crushed coal as fuel.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 12.6pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The brick kiln was visited by officers of the Board on 15.05.2021 and it was observed amongst other violations that the kiln has stored guar crop as fuel to be used in the kiln. </span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';"> </span><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">Accordingly, consents to operate granted to the brick kiln under the provisions of Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 was cancelled by the Board.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 12.6pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">Notice to issue directions u/s 33-A of Water Act, 1974 & u/s 31-A of the Air Act, 1981 was issued to the brick kiln with an opportunity to file reply in writing within 10 days.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 12.6pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">Thereafter, the brick kiln applied for obtaining consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 12.6pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The brick kiln was visited by officers of the Board on 28.03.2022 and 20.04.2022 observed that the brick kiln was in operation with induced draft zig-zag technology. Bricks are lying in a Zig-Zag way. However, the kin has still stored waste of Guar crop for use in the kin as fuel.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 12.6pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">Notice before refusal of consents to operate granted under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 was issued to the kiln, to which a reply was submitted by the kiln, however the same was found not satisfactory and the applications applied for obtaining consents to operate under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 were refused on 20.07.2022.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 12.6pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">Application applied for obtaining consents to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 alongwith an undertaking that only crushed coal or authorized fuel like paddy straw palettes will be used as fuel in the kiln.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 12.6pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">The site was visited by officer of the Board and found that the brick kiln was not in operation, already converted to induced draft zig-zag technology and bricks were lying in zig-zag pattern. Only coal was stored at site as fuel. No other violation reported during the visit.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 12.6pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif';">In view of above, if approved, the Regional Office be allowed to grant consents to operate under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 with validity upto 30.09.2030 – adequacy of consent fee.</span></p>
