Ø  The industry is a small scale orange category unit. Ø  The industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 No. CTOW/Renewal/JAL/2019/9912497 dated 17.05.2019 valid upto 30.09.2023 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 No. CTOA/Renewal/JAL/2019/9912438 dated 17.05.2019 valid upto 30.09.2023 for processing of paddy @ 7 TPH with 3 No. dryer and 1 No. shelling section. Ø  Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS of the Board for processing of paddy @ 7 TPH with 3 No. dryer and 1 No. shelling section. Ø  The industry was visited by officers of this office on 21.12.2022 and observed that the industry was not in operation. Ø  The industry has installed 03 no. dryer with cyclone separator as APCD with adequate stack height. Ø  The industry has installed 1 no. sheller with cyclone separator as APCD with adequate stack height. Ø  There is no source of trade effluent generation and only domestic effluent is discharged onto land for plantation after septic tank at site. Ø  The industry has already submitted certificate issued by Executive Officer, Municipal Council, Adampur vide their memo no. 862 dated 15.05.2019 issued to the industry, wherein it has mentioned that the industry is not located within the M.C limits of the Adampur. Ø  The industry has already submitted approved building plan from Director of factories act, Punjab. Ø   The industry was complying with the provisions of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. Ø  The industry is small scale orange category and the competency of case lies with Environmental Engineer, Jalandhar.           Recommendation:-  Keeping In view of above, it is recommended that renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30.09.2032 with suitable conditions and special conditions that:- <ol style="margin-top: 0cm;" start="1" type="1"> <li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 115%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">The industry will continue to comply with the new code of practice prescribed by Punjab Govt. Department of Science, Technology and Environment vide order no. 932 dated 15.10.2013.</li> <li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 115%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">The industry shall upgrade or install adequate air pollution control device to achieve the amended emission standard, if any amendment made. </li> </ol> <span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: Tahoma; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">The industry shall not make any expansion inside the present premises without obtaining prior permission from the Board.
