<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 115%;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;">T</span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman';">he industry has applied for consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974, and the Air Act, 1981 for the production of Steel Ingots/Billets @ 250.8 MTD by using MS Scrap @ 272.98 TPD and Ferro Alloys @ 5.56 TPD as raw material.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 115%;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;">T</span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman';">he industry had proposed to install 2 Induction furnaces of capacity 12 TPH and 7 TPH by replacing existing furnaces of capacity 8 TPH. However, the industry has installed only one furnace of 12 TPH till date and the other furnace will be installed later. The industry has submitted a provisional Completion certificate of APCD with the furnace of capacity 12 TPH from PSCST vide no. 525 dated 03/11/22.</span></p>

The air emission samples were collected by the Board and the results (Particulate matter @ 78 mg/Nm3) are within the prescribed limits of the Board.</span></p>

The Environmental Clearance for the said expansion has been obtained by the industry.</span></p>

<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; tab-stops: .5in;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>In view of above, show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 was issued to industry with hearing before the CEE, Ludhiana on 16.12.2022. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-indent: 31.5pt;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;">Sh. S.K. Shukla, GM of the industry attended the hearing and </span><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">submitted that the compliance of the conditions of Environmental Clearance granted to the industry is being made and the same will be completed by the end of Jan, 2023.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-bottom: 0in; mso-margin-bottom-alt: 6.0pt; mso-margin-top-alt: 0in; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; tab-stops: .5in;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>After hearing the industry, officer of the Board and considering background of the case and material facts on the record, the Chief Environmental Engineer of the Board decided that:-</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2; margin: 0in 0in 0in 35.45pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">1.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;">The industry shall comply with all the conditions of Environmental Clearance within 3 weeks and submit compliance report to the Board, within 1 month. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2; margin: 0in 0in 0in 35.45pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">2.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;">Consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 be granted to the industry for 6 months.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2; margin: 0in 0in 0in 35.45pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">3.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;">The Environmental Engineer, Regional Office-1, Ludhiana shall visit the industry after 1 month and send further recommendations in the matter.</span></p>
