<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">In addition to note of AEE, it is submitted that the undersigned has checked various ECs being granted by SEIAA Punjab in the past few years and it has been observed that the EC condition regarding provision of secondary fume extraction system at melting furnace is being imposed by SEIAA Punjab after the year 2019 under the head “Air Quality Monitoring and Preservation”.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Further, the matter regarding study of secondary emissions is under process.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">It is therefore recommended that the request made by the industry regarding grant of 'consent to operate' may be considered and it may be granted 'consent to operate' under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 upto 31.03.2024 with following special conditions:</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">1. The industry shall be bound to install adequate & appropriate pollution control device/system as per the design of reputed institute, for control of secondary emissions generated from the furnace unit, as and when directions will be issued by the Board.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">2. The industry shall comply with conditions of Environmental Clearance granted to it under EIA Notification, 2006 and shall submit compliance report of all the conditions within 6 months.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">3. The industry is advised to obtain necessary clearance for Abstraction of Ground Water from the Punjab Water Regulation and Development Authority (PWRDA).</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">4. The industry shall continue to comply with the guidelines/SOPs provided by PSCST, Chandigarh in the effective operation of APCD.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">5. The industry shall not dispose off its Hazardous waste to any unauthorized vendor.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">6. The industry shall execute annual maintenance contract (AMC) for APCD from the repute agency and submit the report in this regard.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">7. The industry shall not use any scrap containing Hazardous waste like shockers containing waste oil.</span></p>
