Baked bricks were present in the kiln chambers.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="color: #5d5d5d; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-align: justify; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-indent: 1in; background: white;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 18.4px; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style', 'serif';">Show cause notice for revocation under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 was issued to the BKO vide this office letter no. 1364 dated 20/06/2022 with an opportunity of personal hearing, but the BKO has failed to submit any satisfactory reply in this regard.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="color: #5d5d5d; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-align: justify; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-indent: 1in; background: white;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 18.4px; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style', 'serif';">The consent to operate granted under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 to the BKO was revoked vide this office letter no. 2042 dated 31/08/2022 due to the reasons mentioned above.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="color: #5d5d5d; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-align: justify; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-indent: 1in; background: white;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 18.4px; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style', 'serif';">Report was sent to the Competent Authority of the Board for initiate action u/s 31-A of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 against the brick kiln.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="color: #5d5d5d; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-align: justify; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-indent: 1in; background: white;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 18.4px; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style', 'serif';">The matter was considered by the Competent Authority of the Board and was decided to issue directions issued u/s 31-A of Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 to the brick kiln for its closure and the district food & civil supply controller (DFSC) be directed to suspend the licence of the brick kiln. Directions u/s 31-A of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 were issued to for its closure and to DFSC, Gurdaspur to suspend the licence of the brick kiln vide Zonal Office, Amritsar letter no. 3261-63 dated 04/10/2022.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="color: #5d5d5d; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-align: justify; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-indent: 1in; background: white;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 18.4px; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style', 'serif';">The District Food & Civil Supply Controller (DFSC), Gurdaspur has submitted compliance of the directions issued by the Board u/s 31-A of Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and license of the brick kiln was suspend vide letter no. 5506 dated 07/12/2022.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="color: #5d5d5d; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-align: justify; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-indent: 1in; background: white;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 18.4px; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style', 'serif';">Now the brick kin has applied for obtaining consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 through OCMMS mode.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="color: #5d5d5d; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-align: justify; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background: white;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 18.4px; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style', 'serif';"> The industry has already deposited Rs. 11500/- Vide R/No. 45/5160 dated 19/09/2019 and now deposited Rs. 15000/- Vide UTR No. SBIN422256347044 dated 13/09/2022, Rs. 36000/- Vide UTR No. SBIN422256344530 dated 13/09/2022 as consent to operate fee under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, including Rs. 500/- as application fee which is adequate upto 30/09/2027 against total gross value of fixed assets worth Rs. 55,12,509/- as on 31/08/2022 as per CA certificate submitted by the BKO.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="color: #5d5d5d; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-align: justify; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-indent: 0.75in; background: white;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 18.4px; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style', 'serif';">The BKO has already submitted completion certificate issued by PSCST, Chandigarh vide letter no. PSCST/CC/354 dated 10/07/2018 intimating that the BKO has constructed induced draft Brick Kiln with miana length is 216 ft. which is more than recommended length and as per the decision of the Board, performance of such kiln will be monitored and further measures would be suggested as per feasibility report (SPL-755).</span></p>

The BKO was advised to plant more trees around the boundary of the kiln.</span></p>
