The primer booth is provided with water curtain as APCD and stack of inadequate height and without sampling arrangements. The shot blast is provided with dust collector and no stack. </span></p>

Further, the industry is located at a distance of around 100-120 mtr from residential plots of sector 90-91, Mohali. Regarding whether the site is suitable for establishment of such type of industries, it is submitted that regarding establishment of green categories industries, Industrial focal point Phase-8 B, Mohali, Member Secretary, Punjab Pollution Control Board vide its letter no. MHL/24/2008/591-92 dated 18/02/2008 has written to principal secretary Department of Industry & Commerce, and Managing Director, PSIEC, stating that a meeting was held in the office of Principal Secretary Department of Industry & Commerce on 19/12/2007 in connection with the matter of establishment of green category industries in industrial focal point Phase-8 (B), Mohali, wherein, it was informed that the industries of only low-polluting nature are allowed to be setup in the above said Focal Point and the PSIEC has also allowed residential pockets in this Focal Point. Hence, it is requested to ensure that allotment of plots is made only to green categories of industries in the said Focal Point. As per master plan of SAS Nagar dated 05/12/2016, sector 74 (phase 8B) is classified as industry and warehouse zone intended for intended to be used for green industry, orange industry and warehouse uses such as Computer software development, Knowledge Park, Assembly and repair of computer hardware and electronic equipment, Printing, publishing and allied industries, Packing of dried foodstuff and Warehouse except for storage of chemicals.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Cambria','serif'; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-latin;">It is pertinent to mention here that the complaint dated 07.10.2022 from Resident Welfare Association, Sector 90-91, SAS Nagar has been forwarded vide ZO Endst no. 6661 dated 31.10.2022 (copy enclosed). In the complaint, president RWA Sh. Rajinder Singh Sidhu has brought out that industry operating in plot no. F- 433-434, Phase-8B is manufacturing mechanical parts using heavy presses and iron cutting machine along with other heavy duty machine which create grate noise pollution in the area. The industry is working round the clock creating heavy noise all the time.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Cambria','serif'; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-latin;">In view of above, it is recommended that the matter regarding grant of Consent to Operate to the industry for a short term of 6 month under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be placed before the competent authority as regular complaints of noise pollution are received from the nearby residents keeping aside the fact that GMDIC has allowed the carrying out of primer activity and manufacturing of tractor parts and steel fabrication subject to special conditions as under:</span></p>
