The application has been scrutinized and it is observed as under:
The CTO applications have been examined and processed by the Board and it has come to the knowledge of the competent authorities that the industry was granted NOC modernization of unit for the product frozen vegetables, vegetable patty and tikki @ 25000 MTA from processing of fresh vegetables @ 40000 MTA subject to the special condition that the NOC is valid for modernization of unit by installing new beans processing unit, chiller unit of capacity 2000 MT alongwith secure compressor in its existing premises without any change in its production capacity. The current application suggests that the processing of fresh vegetable is @ 60000 MTA. The industry was granted CTO under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 for discharge of 244 KLD treated trade effluent and 35 KLD domestic effluent. However, as per the water balance submitted/discussed, the industry wants to obtain CTO for discharge of trade effluent @ 163 KLD and domestic effluent 26 KLD including sundry washing. Whereas, the current application suggests discharge of trade effluent @ 160 KLD and domestic effluent 12 KLD including sundry consumption, which needs clarification
Also, the industry is requested to intimate what measures it has taken to reduce water consumption and generation with addition of new beans processing unit.
