<p class="MsoBodyText2"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span lang="EN-US">It is intimated that earlier, Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 was granted vide online reference no. CTOW/Renewal/PKT/2022/17882046 dated 21/06/2022 & CTOA/Renewal/PKT/2022/17882040 dated dtd 15/06/2022, which were valid upto 30/09/2026 under orange category and same were revoked vide letter no. 3488-89 dated 26/10/2022. </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText2"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"> The industry has now applied for obtaining fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 for the operation of service station under orange category. The industry has submitted all the requisite documents such as C.A. Certificate showing value of gross fixed assets of the industry, compliance report of consents conditions, etc. </span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText2"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span lang="EN-US"> The industry has already deposited Rs. 50,400/- vide UTR No.<br />SDL95994215 dated 04/01/2022 & Rs. 44,180/- vide UTR No.<br />SDL95993343 dated 04/01/2022 as consent to operate fee under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 which is adequate upto 30/09/2026 against total gross value of fixed assets worth Rs. 1,02,38,350/- as on 31/03/2022. </span><span lang="EN-US">The </span><span lang="EN-US">Service Station </span><span lang="EN-US">was visited by AEE of this office on 10/11/2022 and observed as under:-</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText2" style="margin-left: 18.6pt; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">1.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The industry is an auto service station engaged in a process of washing, servicing & sales of cars. </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText2" style="margin-left: 18.6pt; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">2.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">During the visit, washing section of the industry was in operation. </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText2" style="margin-left: 18.6pt; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">3.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The service station has installed ETP for the treatment of effluent generated from washing and servicing of vehicles.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText2" style="margin-left: 18.6pt; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">4.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The ETP consists of Screen, Oil & Grease trap, dozing tank, tube settler & filters. The industry has provided flow meter at the outlet of the ETP. </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText2" style="margin-left: 18.6pt; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">5.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The ETP was in operation. Treated effluent samples were collected, which were within prescribed limits of the Board. Treated effluent is discharged into sewer. </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText2" style="margin-left: 18.6pt; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">6.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The auto service station has changed mode of disposal of treated trade effluent from Onto Land for Planation to MC Sewer (Copy of Permission from MC, Pathankot is attached). </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText2" style="margin-left: 18.6pt; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">7.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The domestic effluent generated from the premises is discharged into septic tank. </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText2" style="margin-left: 18.6pt; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">8.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The service station has provided paint booth inside the premises and is provided with filters for arresting the dust emission. </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText2" style="margin-left: 18.6pt; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">9.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The industry has installed 2 nos. D.G sets of capacity 62.5 KVA each, which are provided with canopy.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"> <span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 115%;"> The industry falls in orange category in small scale sector and competency to decide the case lies with the Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office, Amritsar. It is intimated that the auto service station was given personal hearing before the Chief Environmental Engineer, Jalandhar and proceedings are awaited.</span></span></p>
<p><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"> In view of above, it is recommended that the application of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be decided in light of proceedings of the hearing given by the Chief Environmental Engineer, Jalandhar. </span></p> |
