<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.5in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">It is intimated that the industry is a small scale orange category washing unit. Earlier the industry was granted consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/LDH3/2022/18738526 dated 05.07.2022 and under Air Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/LDH3/2022/18738532 dated 05.07.2022 for the production of washing and pressing of kids wear garments on job basis @ 6000 numbers/day with generation of trade effluent @ 14.56 KLD into sewer after treatment through ETP and domestic effluent @ 0.9 KLD into sewer, which are valid upto 04.01.2023.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.5in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">Earlier, during the visit on 30.05.2022 effluent samples of the industry were collected & the results of various parameters were found beyond the permissible limits. Accordingly show cause notice issued for refusal of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 with opportunity of personal hearing held before the Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office-II, Ludhiana on 01.07.2022. During the hearing following decisions were taken:-</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 63.0pt; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Now the industry has applied for renewal consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 for the production of washing and pressing of kids wear garments on job basis @ 6000 numbers/day with generation of trade effluent @ 14.56 KLD into sewer after treatment through ETP and domestic effluent @ 0.9 KLD into sewer. The industry has deposit Rs. 9,450/- vide R. no. 918073602 dated 18.05.2022 under Water Act, 1974 and Rs. 9,450/- vide R. no. 319704078 dated 18.05.2022 under Air Act, 1981, which are adequate upto 30.06.2029.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -1.0in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 02.01.2023<span style="color: red;"> </span>and observed that:-</span></p>

The treated effluent is being discharged into the MC sewer. </span></p>

The industry was used wood as fuel in its boiler.</span></p>
