<p class="MsoPlainText" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; font-style: normal;">Earlier, the industry was operating its unit in Plot No. E-15, Industrial Growth Centre, Mansa Road, Bathinda and having 'consents to operate' under the Water Act, 1974 & the Air Act, 1981 (valid upto 17.11.2018 & 30.09.2021, respectively). The electric connection of the industry was restored temporarily vide Board's letter no. 1823-24 dated 21.05.2018 for six months only. </span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; font-style: normal;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>The industry had installed effluent treatment plant and sampling was carried out on 09.08.2018 and found achieving effluent standards. </span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; font-style: normal;">During environment surveillance campaign, the industry was visited by officers of the Board on 19.11.2022 and found not in operation at Plot No. E-15. On enquiry, it has been found that the unit has been shifted to Plot No. E-19 & 20. Accordingly, the officers of the Board visited Plot No. E-19 & 20 and observed that:-</span></p>

<p class="MsoPlainText" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -22.5pt; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1; margin: 0in 0in 6.0pt 22.5pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma; font-style: normal;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">2.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; font-style: normal;">The industry has not installed any effluent treatment plant and has made arrangements for discharge of untreated effluent into PSIEC sewer.</span></p>

<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin-bottom: 6.0pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; font-style: normal;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>In view of above, the industry was issued notice u/s 33-A of the Water Act, 1974 with an opportunity of personal hearing on 15.12.2022, which was postponed due to administrative reasons and the industry, was afforded an opportunity to submit its reply in the matter within 07 days. <br /><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>Now the industry has applied for obtaining consents to operate under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 in plot no. E-19 & 20 of IGC, Mansa Road, Bathinda, which has transferred on 99 years leese period in name of the prop. of the industry Sh. Kuldeep Kumar S/o Sh. Baldev Raj for manufacturing of ice-cream by PSIEC vide its letter dated 16.01.2017 & 29.08.2019, respectively. </span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin-bottom: 6.0pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; font-style: normal;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>The industry has submitted feasibility report for installation of ETP @ 5 KLD for treatment of trade effluent @ 2 KLD along with provision to discharge it into PSIEC sewer after treatment.</span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin-bottom: 6.0pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><strong><u><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; font-style: normal;">Site Observations:-</span></u></strong></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin-bottom: 6.0pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; font-style: normal;">The industry was visited by the officer of the Board on 27.12.2022 and it was observed as under:-</span></p>

Flow meter provided at the source of fresh water supply.</span></p>

<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin-bottom: 6.0pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><strong><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; font-style: normal;">Recommendations:-</span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin-bottom: 6.0pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; font-style: normal;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>In view of above, if approved, consents to operate under the provisions of the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 be granted to the industry upto 30.09.2027 for manufacturing of ice-cream @ 2 KLD in IGC plot no. E-19 & E-20, subject to the following specific conditions:-</span></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText" style="margin-left: .5in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 115%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo3;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Tahoma; font-style: normal;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">1.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; font-style: normal;">The industry will operate its ETP regularly and scientifically and shall maintain proper record of the effluent generated/treated by installation of electromagnetic flow meter at the inlet/outlet of the ETP.</span></p>
