<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 62.1pt; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">The industry has now applied for renewal ‘Consent to Operate’ under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 along with requisite documents and fees.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 62.1pt; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">The industry has submitted Latest CA Certificate regarding value of Fixed Assets as on 30.06.2022, Compliance report of previous Consent conditions, Location plan, Site plan, Manufacturing report, DTP Certificate, Proprietor ship declaration. The documents submitted by the industry may kindly be perused. The fee submitted by the industry is valid upto 30.09.2026 including penalty fee.</span></p>

The industry has not installed energy meter to its APCD, as such, the operation of the APCD during manufacturing process could not be verified.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 62.1pt; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Accordingly, show cause notice was issued to the industry along with opportunity of personal hearing before Senior Environmental Engineer wherein it was decided as under:-</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -18.0pt; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">1.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">The industry shall provide adequate plantation to utilize domestic effluent after septic tank, within 2 days.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -18.0pt; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">2.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">The industry shall increase the height of stack upto 10 feet above roof level with gas fume extraction machine, within 2 days.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -18.0pt; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">3.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">The Environmental Engineer, Regional office-1, Ludhiana shall visit the industry to check compliance of hearing decisions and submit report / recommendations in the matter.</span></p>

<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -18.0pt; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo3;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">2.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">The industry has now repaired its APCD and the same is in operational condition. It has now installed stack height of 10 feet above roof level.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -18.0pt; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo3;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">3.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">The industry has not installed Septic tank and has given false statement during visit. It has installed two concrete chambers in which domestic effluent is passed. The second chamber is working as a soakage pit.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -18.0pt; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo3;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">4.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">The industry has installed fresh plantation at the front side of the industry.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -18.0pt; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo3;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">5.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">The industry has not submitted any proposal regarding the disposal of empty barrels/containers of chemicals.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Accordingly, the Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 was refused. Now, the industry has again applied for Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 along with requisite documents and fees. The industry was visited by undersigned on 30/12/2022 and observed that the industry has now provided the septic tank and the treated effluent is disposed off onto land for plantation.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;"> In view of above, if approved, Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 30/09/2026 subject to suitable conditions, please.</span></p>
