<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 2cm; text-align: justify;">Earlier, the industry was visited by the team of CPCB and IIT-Ropar on 28/03/2022 the report of which has been received by this email in this office which is summarized as under:-</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The industry was in operation during visit and engaged in the recovery of Ferrous Sulphate from Spent Acid (Sulphuric acid based).</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The industry is having valid Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 which are valid upto 30/06/2025. The industry has obtained Passbook under Hazardous and Other Wastes Rules, 2016.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The APCD attached with the reactor of the industry was found dismantled and no APCD data was available.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->4.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The industry has not provided records regarding residue generation (Filter press mud/Scrubber mud) from the process and mode/quantity of disposal of the same to TSDF.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->5.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The storage of Hazardous waste i.e. Filter mud was not proper.</p>

<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->8.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The industry has not maintained a record regarding the quantity of Iron Dust procured.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 2cm; text-align: justify;">Accordingly, Directions u/s 31-A of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 have been issued for closure of unit and the PSPCL authority have also been directed to disconnect electric connection of the industry. The Show cause notice for violation of provisions of Hazardous and other Waste (Management & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 has also been issued to the industry.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 2cm; text-align: justify;">Now, the industry has applied for obtaining Consent to Operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for production of Ferrous Sulphate @ 4 TPD along with requisite documents and fees.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 2cm; text-align: justify;">The industry has submitted Compliance report of previous consent conditions, CA Certificate regarding fixed assets as on 30/11/2022 and reply to the show cause notice issued. The reply submitted by the industry may kindly be perused.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 2cm; text-align: justify;">The industry has submitted that the Reactor was not in operation at the time of the visit by the team but the APCD was installed. The record regarding Hazardous waste generation was maintained and Hazardous waste is now being stored in the proper manner in the Hazardous waste room. The industry has started labelling as per requirements and has provided safety equipment’s to workers.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 2cm; text-align: justify;">The industry was visited by the undersigned on 30/12/2022 and it was observed as under:-</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The industry was not in operation during visit due to electricity disconnection. The PSPCL has issued TDC No. 466/152 dated 08/12/2022.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The maintenance work was going on in the industry.</p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent: -18pt; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span><!--[endif]-->The industry has installed APCD with both the reactors with adequate stack height and sampling arrangements.</p>
