<p style="text-align: justify;">The agenda note and report / recommendations of AEE/EE, RO, may kindly be perused.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The industry is a small scale orange category washing unit. Earlier the industry was granted consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 for the production of washing and pressing of kids wear garments on job basis @ 6000 numbers/day with generation of trade effluent @ 14.56 KLD into sewer after treatment through ETP and domestic effluent @ 0.9 KLD into sewer, which are valid upto 04.01.2023.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Earlier, during the visit on 30.05.2022 effluent samples of the industry were collected & the results of various parameters were found beyond the permissible limits. Accordingly show cause notice issued for refusal of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 with opportunity of personal hearing held before the Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office-II, Ludhiana on 01.07.2022. During the hearing following decisions were taken:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->The industry shall submit the classification certificate in the Board.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->Environmental Engineer, Regional Office-3, Ludhiana shall visit the industry, carry out re-sampling of the ETP and send the complete report.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"> Now the industry has applied for renewal consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 for the production of washing and pressing of kids wear garments on job basis @ 6000 numbers/day with generation of trade effluent @ 14.56 KLD into sewer after treatment through ETP and domestic effluent @ 0.9 KLD into sewer. The industry has deposited consent fee, which are adequate upto 30.06.2029 under both Acts.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"> The industry was visited by AEE of RO on 02.01.2023 and observed that:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">1. The industry was in operation during the visit and engaged in the process of washing of garments.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">2. The industry has installed 6 washing machines in the premises.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">3. The industry has installed ETP for the treatment of effluent generated from the washing of garments. The treated effluent is being discharged into the MC sewer.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">4. During the visit effluent sample from the outlet of the ETP was collected and the same was sent to the Board’s lab for analysis, results of the same is still awaited.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">5. The industry has installed one baby boiler of capacity @ 0.5 T/day with adequate stack height. The industry was used wood as fuel in its boiler.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">6. The industry has also installed one DG set of capacity 30 KVA with canopy inside the premises.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">7. Now, the industry has submitted copy of area classification certificate obtained from DTP, Ludhiana vide no. 1604/DTP(L)/M2A dated 06.07.2022 mentioning that the site of the industry falls in Industry Land Use Zone as per Master Plan Ludhiana (2007-2031).</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In the view above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30.09.2027 with suitable conditions.</p>
