<p>Sir RO has reported that earlier, the unit was granted consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/ASR/2020/12967214 dated 08/09/2020 up to 30/06/2022, further extended vide no. CTOA/Renewal/ASR/2022/18849049 dated 05/08/2022, valid up to 31/03/2023. The unit was also granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/ASR/2020/12968820 dated 08/09/2020 up to 30/06/2022, further extended vide no. CTOW/Renewal/ASR/2022/18880318 dated 05/08/2022, valid up to 31/12/2022.</p>
<p> Now, the unit has applied for renewal consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 & Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 with CA Certificate and request letter to grant the extension to the project.</p>
<p> The unit was visited by officer of this office on 30/12/2022 and observed as under:-</p>
<p>1. The unit is a shopping mall.</p>
<p>2. The project proponent has obtained completion certificate from the Office of Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Amritsar on 15.06.2012 for operational activity of the mall vide letter No. C/MTP/528 and a valid permission to connect the mall’s sewer line with MC’s sewer from the same authority vide letter no. W.S.S.S/1586 Dated 25.01.2008 for discharge of sewer into MC sewer line and the same will be further treat by installed STP of Municipal Corporation of Amritsar.</p>
<p>3. The unit has uploaded a request letter to grant extension.</p>
<p>4. While last consent, the project proponent requested that the shops have not been occupied by the retailers yet, but an outlet namely Pizza Hut was in operation as observed during visit on 09/06/2022.</p>
<p>5. The project proponent told that the STP cannot be put into operation till there is 40% occupancy in the Mall.</p>
<p> It is further submitted that the unit is complying with conditions of the consents granted under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.</p>
<p>RO has recommended that the consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 applied by the unit may be granted for one year. </p>
<p>Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 applied by the unit may be granted for one year with special conditions that the project shall operate its STP and analyze its effluent samples from Board's lab within this consented period.</p>
