Earlier a complaint was received against the industry regarding water pollution caused by the unit. The industry was visited by the JEE of this office on 11.08.2022, during the visit the industry was found in operation without obtaining consent to operate of the Board under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. Accordingly the industry was issued show cause notice for violation of provisions of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 with the opportunity of personal hearing held before Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office-2, Ludhiana on 16.12.2022. Proceedings of the hearing are yet to be received.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Now the industry has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 for the production of ICE SILLI @ 40 num/day with the disposal of domestic effluent @ 1.5 KLD onto land for plantation after septic tank. The industry has deposited Rs. 12,000/- vide R. No. 844178646 dated 02.01.2023 under Water Act, 1974 and Rs. 12,000 /- vide R. No. 143406142 dated 02.01.2023 under Air Act, 1981, both are adequate upto 30.06.2023 after deducting late fee penalty.</span></p>
