CTOW/Renewal/PTA/2018/7900174 dated 02/08/2018, valid upto 28/01/2023 and the Air Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/PTA/2018/7900274 dated 05/09/2018, valid upto 30/09/2023 for manufacturing of Zinc Metal @ 2 MT/Day and&nbsp; Zinc Sulphate @ 14 MT/Day by using Zinc Skimmings @ 4.44 MT/Day, Zinc Ash @ 4.48 MT/Day and Sulphuric Acid @ 5.6 MT/Day as raw material with suitable conditions as mentioned therein. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; background: white;">Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate grated under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 with requisite document i.e. compliance report, CA certificate, copy of passbook, new partnership deed, dissolved deed etc. The industry has deposited Rs. 21600/- vide UTR No. SBIN522345500907 dated 11.12.2022 as water consent fee and Rs. 21600/- vide UTR No. SBIN522345502534 dated 11.12.2022 as air consent fee, against the fixed assets of Rs. 65.08 lakh as on 30.09.2022 as per CA certificate dated 10.12.2022, which is adequate upto 30.09.2029. &nbsp;</span></p> <p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="margin-left: 0in; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; background: white;">The industry has submitted compliance report of conditions of the consents granted it earlier under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.</span></p> <p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 0in; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; background: white;">The industry was visited by Asst. Environmental Engineer of this office on 20.12.2022 and contacted Sh. Sanjay, representative of the industry. During visit,it was observed as under: </span></p> <p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 0in; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; background: white;">&nbsp;1. The industry was not operation. </span></p> <p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 0in; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; background: white;">2. The industry has provided two no. reactors and alkali scrubber has been provided as APCD for scrubbing of process emissions generated from it.The industry has also provided zinc melting furnace and wet scrubber has provided as APCD with stack of adequate height. HSD is used in the melting furnace as fuel. </span></p> <p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 0in; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; background: white;">3. The industry is not generating trade effluent from its process, only domestic effluent generated is being discharged onto to land for plantation after its treatment through septic tank provided by the industry. </span></p> <p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 0in; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; background: white;">4. The industry has installed one no. D.G. set of 62 KVA which is equipped with canopy and a stack of adequate height. </span></p> <p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="margin-left: 0in; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; background: white;">5.&nbsp; The industry has also submitted stack emissions sampling reports and analyzed by Board&rsquo;s Approved Laboratory (Evapo Tech Technical Service and Consultants, Patiala) on 06.12.2022. As per the report, the concentration of particulate matter is 98 mg/Nm<sup>3</sup>, which are within the permissible limits as prescribed by the Board. </span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: Tahoma, 'sans-serif'; background: white;">Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that consent to operate under the Water (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be renewed upto 30.09.2027 under orange category subject to suitable conditions and special conditioned as per policy of the Board. &nbsp;</span></p>
