Under Environment surveillance campaign, the industry was visited surprisingly on 02.12.2022 by undersigned and observed as under:
1. The industry was in operation during visit.
2. It has 2 no. cold rolling mills, pickling plant, shot blast machine and ERW pipe plant.
3. The industry has obtained consent to operate for manufacturing of CR strips @ 8 TPD and ERW pipes @ 5 TPD. However, actual production (average) disclosed by industry is CR strips @ 12 TPD and ERW pipes @ 18 TPD. Therefore, it is required to obtain varied consents.
4. The housekeeping of industry in the pickling section and recirculation of cutting oil section is very bad due to lot of spillages of acid and it needs to be improved.
5. The industry has provided inlet water meter in the picking section and reading of same was 214.02 KL.
6. As per record maintained by industry, it has used fresh water @ (214.02 - 209.815) KL = 4.205 KL w.e.f. 01.06.2022 and lifting to CETP in said period are as under:
17.11.2022 – 6000 ltr
18.10.2022 – 6000 ltr
19.09.2022 – 5000 ltr
27.07.2022 – 5000 ltr
24.06.2022 – 5000 ltr
Total – 27000 ltr
7. As per record maintained by industry, it has noted reading of water meter as 232.155 on 30.11.2022 and actual reading noted during visit is 214.02 KL. So, it is clear that the industry is manipulating all the record.
8. It has storage tank of capacity 10 KL for collection of trade effluent.
9. During visit, it has stored approx 4 KL waste water in collection tank.
10. The industry has not provided any environmental data board.
