<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin: 9.15pt 0.2pt 0.0001pt 0cm; text-indent: 70.9pt; line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">It is submitted that the industry is a small-scale orange category plyboard manufacturing unit and was visited by the officer of the Board on 29/12/2021 and found violating the provisions of Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. The show cause notice was issued to the industry along with opportunity of personal hearing before Chief Environmental Engineer, Ludhiana wherein it was decided that Directions u/s 31-A of Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be issued for closure of the industry. Accordingly, the electricity connection was disconnected by PSPCL vide application no. 100018030108 dated 15-06-2022. </span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin: 9.15pt 0.2pt 0.0001pt 0cm; text-indent: 70.9pt; line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">The industry has later applied for fresh „Consent to Operate‟ under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 for Plywood & Board @ 600 Sq.m/day and found complying. It was granted Consent to Operate accordingly which was valid upto 04/01/2023. The electricity connection of the industry was also restored temporarily for six months.</span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin: 9.15pt 0.2pt 0.0001pt 0cm; text-indent: 70.9pt; line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">Now, the industry has applied for renewal of Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 along with requisite documents and fees.</span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin: 9.15pt 0.2pt 0.0001pt 0cm; text-indent: 70.9pt; line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">The industry was visited by undersigned on 08-12-2022 & observed as under:</span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin: 9.15pt 0.2pt 0.0001pt 21.3pt; text-indent: -18pt; line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">1.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The<span style="letter-spacing: 2.25pt;"> </span>industry was in operation during visit and engaged in manufacturing of plywood.</span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin: 9.15pt 0.2pt 0.0001pt 21.3pt; text-indent: -18pt; line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">2.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The industry has installed a wood fired boiler of steam generation capacity 3TPH which has been equipped with cyclone as APCD and rotary valve has been provided with it. </span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin: 9.15pt 0.2pt 0.0001pt 21.3pt; text-indent: -18pt; line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">3.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The air emission samples were collected from the stack and as per Zonal Lab, Ludhiana letter no. 2166 dated 20/12/2022, the parameters are within the prescribed limits of the Board. (Particulate matter @ 218 mg/Nm<sup>3 </sup>against 500 mg/Nm<sup>3</sup>)</span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin: 9.15pt 0.2pt 0.0001pt 21.3pt; text-indent: -18pt; line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">4.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The industry has not installed any glue kettle. </span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin: 9.15pt 0.2pt 0.0001pt 21.3pt; text-indent: -18pt; line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">5.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The industry has also installed one DG set of capacity 60 KVA which is equipped with canopy and stack of adequate ht.</span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin: 9.15pt 0.2pt 0.0001pt 21.3pt; text-indent: -18pt; line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">6.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The domestic effluent is being discharge on to land for plantation after passing through septic tank.</span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin: 9.15pt 0.2pt 0.0001pt 0cm; text-indent: 70.9pt; line-height: 150%; text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">In view of the above, May if approved, it is recommended that:</span></p>
