<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 12.0pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">It is submitted that the industry was earlier granted consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/SAS/2019/10404565 dated 07/08/2019 having validity upto 29/08/2023 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/SAS/2022/19459661 dated 12/09/2022 was valid upto 31/12/2022 for manufacturing of Zinc metal @ 06 TPD, Zinc Ash @ 09 TPD by using Zinc ash (from galvanizing industries) @ 15 TPD as raw material, subject to certain condition as mentioned therein.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 12.0pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 with same production capacity. The industry has submitted its CA certificate dated 15/06/2022 mentioning cost of fixed assets of Rs. 24.88 lakh, which is remain same. The industry had earlier deposited Rs. 22,500/- vide R. No. 11/4861 dated 25.06.2019 under (Rs. 11,000/- Water Act, 1974, Rs. 11,000/- Air Act, 1981 & Rs. 500 form fee), which is adequate upto 30.06.2026.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 12.0pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">The industry had earlier deposited Rs. 15,400/- (Rs. 11,000/- under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Rs. 4400/- as late fees) vide online UTR no. KKBKH22144926743 dated 24/05/2022 (lined with App. ID. 19202824). Now, the consent fee deposited by the industry under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 is adequate upto 30.06.2031 against the cost of the fixed assets of Rs. 24.88 lakh.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 12.0pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">The industry has submitted its compliance report of conditions of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 earlier granted it.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%; margin: 12.0pt 0in .0001pt 0in;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">Accordingly, the site of the industry was visited by the AEE of this office on 17/01/2023 and it was observed as under:-</span></p>

The raw material is fed to the pulverizer and zinc metal is separated from the zinc powder.</span></p>

The furnace attached with cyclone, dust collector followed by double stage wet scrubber as APCD and stack of adequate height and sampling arrangement. The furnace was not in operation.</span></p>

Regn/PPCB/2018-23/F-150 dated 30.08.2018, which is valid upto 29.08.2023 for utilization of hazardous wastes of category 6.3 i.e. other residues from processing of zinc ash or skimming as its raw material.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt 1.25in;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">10.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">The industry was telephonically contacted 2-3 times for collection of air emission sample, but the industry owner informed that the furnace was not in operation; therefore the air emission sample could not be collected. The industry was asked to give a schedule before 01 week of operation of furnace, so that the air emission sample can be collected.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%; margin: 12.0pt 0in .0001pt 0in;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%;">In view of the above, it is recommended that consent to operate under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be renewed upto 30/06/2026, with usual conditions and special conditions that:</span></p>
