<p style="text-align: justify;">The agenda note and report / recommendations of AEE/EE, RO, may kindly be perused.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The industry is a small scale red category unit and has applied for fresh consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and under the Air Act, 1981.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Earlier, directions u/s 33-A of the Water Act, 1974 was issued to the PSPCL authorities to disconnect the electric connection of the industry vide Board letter no 7144 dated 24.11.22 as the industry was running without consents and has not made any agreement with the CETP operator and found disposing off its effluent in un- authorized manner.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Now the industry has applied fresh consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and the industry has deposited consent fees, which is adequate upto 04.02.2027 (Water) and 04.02.2026 (Air).</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">To verify the facts, the industry was visited by the officer of RO on 12.01.23 and it was observed as under ;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">1. The industry was not in operation during visit and electric connection of the industry has been found disconnect vide TDCO no 1802 dated 26.12.22</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">2. The industry is engaged in electroplating process and has made agreement with the CETP operator i.e JBR Unit 1 @3000 Litre/month dated 21.09.22 .</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">3. The industry has installed the new water meter and has started maintaining the record of daily water consumption viz a viz effluent lifted .</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">4. The industry has submitted electricity bill dated 04.2.2020 as proof of the date of the commissioning of the industry . The industry is surrounded by various other industrial units, having valid consents from the Board. Hence the site is suitable for establishment of red category unit.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">5. It is intimated that the industry has made fresh agreement with JBR on 21.09.2022. As, the treatment capacity of M/s JBR was almost exhausted. Accordingly, on 11.09.2020, the Board has directed CETP Operator that no new/revised agreements are made without CTE/CTO of the Board. Now, a new CETP for electroplating unit has been recently commissioned at Chanalon and total available treatment capacity of M/s JBR is 77 KLD.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">6. No DG set has been installed by the industry .</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In view of above, it is recommended that:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">1. Directions u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 may be issued for temporary restoration of electric connection for six months.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">2. Consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to industry for six months with suitable conditions, please.</p>
