The institute M/s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bathinda was issued show cause notice before refusal of renewal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 as well as before revocation of authorization granted under the provisions of Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 alongwith an opportunity of personal hearing on 19.01.2023. But no representative of the AIIMS attended the hearing. However, an email dated 17.01.2023 has been received from AIIMS and informed that the officials of AIIMS, Bathinda are busy with the conduct of interviews and requested for exemption from personal hearing on 19.01.2023. The institute has also submitted reply of show cause notices and submitted that incompletions pointed out by the Board have been removed. A copy of the email and reply of show cause notices received is attached herewith for ready reference. The case of the AIIMS was deliberated and decided to afford another opportunity of personal hearing to the AIIMS and simultaneously ask Regional Office to verify the submissions made by AIIMS in its reply & submit report / recommendations before the date of hearing.
