However, the pp has submitted that the treated water will be sent to the sewer line of the municipal council and has submitted the NOC issued by EO, MC, Barnala vide no. 48/B dated 23.01.2023 mentioning that the MC Barnala will allow the pp to discharge the treated wastewater into the MC sewer after depositing the requisite charges to the MC as per the available capacity of the STP installed by MC Barnala after the time of completion of the project. As such, no clear cut NOC has been given the MC for disposal of treated effluent into MC Sewer. Further, the monitoring of the STP of the city was carried out on a monthly basis by the Board and presently around 20 MLD effluent is being treated in the STP having capacity 20 MLD. So no additional capacity is available with the STP installed in Barnala city.
