It was granted consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 upto 31.03.2022 for manufacturing of frozen burger petty/ alloo tikki, samosa/kachori, parantha, indian vegetables/ curries & biryani/ idli/ dosa etc.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; line-height: 13.8pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-color-alt: windowtext; mso-fareast-language: EN-IN; mso-bidi-language: PA;"> The industry has earlier applied for renewal in validity of Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention & control of Pollution) Act, 1974 through OCMMS on 8.6.2022.</span></p>

The industry has not provided any flowmeter at outlet of ETP and no pipeline/arrangement was found to send treated wastewater to UF+RO installed by its sister concern M/s Asian lakto Industries Ltd. The industry is not maintaining any record of operation of this ETP. The condition of the ETP indicated that it is not being operated. Further, there is no approach to check the functioning of the equipment of ETP.</span></p>

The industry is also discharging untreated wastewater illegally into fields through flexible pipe. </span></p>

The industry has not provided any hazardous waste storage room. It is apprehended that the industry is disposing of hazardous waste unscientifically and illegally.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 13.8pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-color-alt: windowtext; mso-fareast-language: EN-IN; mso-bidi-language: PA;">The industry was served with show cause notice for refusal of consent granted under the Air Act, 1981 with an opportunity of personal hearing before the Chairman of the Board on 28.07.2022.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; line-height: 13.8pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-color-alt: windowtext; mso-fareast-language: EN-IN; mso-bidi-language: PA;"> Sh. Gopal Poddar Managing Director of the industry attended the hearing and submitted a written reply which was taken on record. He submitted that they have installed the ETP and STP separately and have reserved a dedicated land for the disposal of treated effluent. Plantation has been made in the plantation area. The plantation area has now been maintained properly. In the recent past the production of the industry was not good and only 605 KL of effluent was generated in the last 3 years. To reuse the treated effluent they have also installed RO and ultra-filtration systems. But due to less generation, the treated effluent is used for plantation. The flexible pipes have been removed now. The stagnation observed might be due to rains. The industry has now provided Hazardous Waste Storage room and has now started maintaining the record of it. Presently all the violations have been complied with and can be verified.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; line-height: 13.8pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: black; mso-color-alt: windowtext; mso-fareast-language: EN-IN; mso-bidi-language: PA;"> After hearing the representative of the industry, officers of the Board and considering background of the case, it was decided as under:-</span></p>
