<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; background: white;">The industry is a small scale orange category service station and was given personal hearing before the Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office, Jalandhar on 14.11.2022 and it was decided that:</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -13.5pt; line-height: normal; background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm .0001pt 27.0pt;">1. The service station shall the bank guarantee of Rs. 50,000/- as an assurance to operate the effluent treatment plant regularly and to comply with provisions of Water Act, 1974 within 07 days.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -13.5pt; line-height: normal; background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm .0001pt 27.0pt;">2. The service station shall operate the ETP regularly and efficiently so as to keep the parameters within the limits prescribed by the Board at all the time.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -13.5pt; line-height: normal; background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm .0001pt 27.0pt;">3. The service station shall install Environmental Data Board outside the main gate of the industry within 07 days.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -13.5pt; line-height: normal; background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm .0001pt 27.0pt;">4. The service station shall provide hazardous waste room for the storage of categories of hazardous waste within 07 days.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -13.5pt; line-height: normal; background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm .0001pt 27.0pt;">5. The service station shall apply for consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974, Air Act, 1981 and Hazardous and Other Wastes Rules, 2016 along with complete documents through OCMMS within 15 days.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -13.5pt; line-height: normal; background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm .0001pt 27.0pt;">6. Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Hoshiarpur shall visit the service station to collect effluent sample of ETP, check the operational record of the ETP/disposal arrangements and submit the report alongwith recommendations in the matter within 07 days.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; background: white;"> <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The industry has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>through OCMMS.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; background: white;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Regional Office has reported that the service station was visited by officer of this office on 13.12.2022 and it was observed that the industry was in operation. The industry has installed ETP, which was also in operation. During visit, the effluent sample was carried out from final outlet of ETP and as per analysis report,pH-7.9,TSS-14 mg/l, TDS-448 mg/l , COD-61 mg/l, O&G-BDL, which is within the limits of board. The industry has submitted a bank of Rs. 50,000/-, which is valid upto 13.12.2023. The treated trade effluent is partially re-used and partially used onto land for plantation. The total area of plantation is around 1000 sq/ft. The service station has installed the Environmental Data Board outside the main gate of the industry. The industry has provided the hazardous waste room of size 8’ x 10’ for the storage of categories of hazardous waste. The industry has submitted DTP letter vide no. 379 dated 05.05.2022, which it is mentioning that the site is falls in mixed land use Zone as per master plan (2009-31) Hoshiarpur. The industry has submitted approved building plan from competent person.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; background: white;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>In view of report of RO, it is recommended that consent under Water Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry for six months with suitable conditions and special conditions that the industry shall submit the continuation certificate from DTP, Hoshiarpur for operation of service station in the existing site within 01-month & the service station shall apply for authorization under Hazardous and Other Wastes Rules, 2016 through OCMMS within 15 days.
