<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The industry is a small scale unit engaged in the production of sweets, dairy products etc. the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The industry was visited by the AEE on 23.11.2022 and reported that the industry has installed ETP for the treatment of effluent generated from the process and washing of the pans.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The ETP consists of Oil & Grease trap, equalization tank , dozing tank, aeration tank, tube settler, filter.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The treated effluent of the ETP is discharged into PSIEC sewer and the domestic effluent is also discharged directly into sewer.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The RO was asked to the <span style="color: #5d5d5d; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; background-color: #ffffff;">visit the industry, collect effluent samples of ETP, check record regarding operation of ETP and submit report. The industry </span> was visited by Regional Office on 19.12.2022<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>to collect effluent samples and As per analysis results, the conc. of parameters is pH-4.6, BOD-430 mg/l, TSS-288 mg/l, COD-1232 mg/l and Oil & Grease-14 mg/l, which are beyond the prescribed standards (Dairy products) of the Board.During visit, the ETP was in operation and the treated effluent was being discharged into PSIEC sewer. Further, the industry has provided flow meter at the outlet of the ETP and reading was noted as 333 KL. The industry has maintained daily record of ETP operation in register.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>In view of above, it is recommended that show cause notice for refusal of CTO under Water Act, 1974 may be issued to the industry with hearing at ZO level please.</p>
